SENGOKU Sign Antonio Silva! The Fighter Who Once Kissed Another Fighter Returns •November 28, 2008 •
The fourth fight for SENGOKU NO RAN 2009 was announced today. Antonio Silva has been signed, as was rumored, and he will make his SENGOKU debut on January 4th against Yoshihiro “KISS” Nakao. KISS hasn’t fought since May when he KO’d Big Jim York.
I thought we would’ve maybe have seen Nakao vs. Fujita on January 4th as Nakao wanted this fight before, so it’ll be interesting to see who else Fujita faces if he participates.
Update: Nakao was in a traffic accident not too long ago, but he is healed now.

Interesting that Fujita isn't booked on the card yet, since he's a huge deal in Japan.
I'd like to see Randleman vs Fujita for this card, because I don't see Barnett fighting twice in Jan, although a bigger win in Japan might also mean a bigger payday too?
Also, Yoshida has never fought Fujita, which IMO would be a ridiculously huge fight for me personally, since they're both two of my faves.
Not going to get the chance to see this card live, but I think that they have plenty of superstars to build cards around.
Also, every time I see Sengoku and DREAM cards, I think how sweet it would be if they merged to put their talent together to make one promotion. Most of these cards often have really great fighters going up against nobodies and I don't really see the draw alot of the time to go out and order it.
Could somebody tell me why they aren't copromoting events and aren't one company, when the are attempting to fill the void left my the uberhuge PRIDE FC? I don't really get it.
I am telling you Antonio Silva is the real deal, heavy hands and pretty good BJJ and he can take a shot unlike GG. Hopefully we will see this guy in the UFC in late 2009.

No we won't.
If he continues to fight outside of the states while on a year suspension that will look very bad.
Just ask Franca, he thought he would be able to do the same thing then found out if he fought he would be screwed. He even asked the UFC for his release so he could fight an it never happen.
And I disagree with what you said about Silva. Haven't seen him take a solid shot, his stand up is weak, an he is slow.
Poor Kiss. Those Korean fighters seem to be consistently relegated to cannon fodder. But maybe thats a sign of respect in japan since they also do the same thing to their own.

But he is fun to watch
The CSAC banned him for 1 year, although they reduced Sherk suspension they didn't for Silva, weird because both were found with the same thing in their system and both disputed the tests.
I don't know how bad the NSAC looks down on fighters fighting overseas when they are under suspension from another commission.
The UFC has heavy pull with NSAC so I think he could get a license fairly easily.
He does have a good shoot, in his fight against Cabbage he took him down and controlled him. Also the guy has to cut almost 40 pounds just to make weight. The guy is a monster, besides you don't have to throw punches in bunches and have the quickest hands to fight in the HW division.

u said take a shot, not shoot in on someone for a take down.

Vitor violated his suspension by fighting outside of the states, then when he fought terry martin, he fought in the states, I don't think it's as big of a deal as we thought.
