Also backstage was lightweight champion B.J. Penn, who conducted a pre-fight news conference to tout his Jan. 31 battle against welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
“This is the biggest fight of my career,” said Penn, a Hawaiian. “I feel like I’m better than him. He’s athletic, but I believe his athleticism overshadows issues with his technique, and I have better technical skills than him.”
I totally agree... Penn is athletic enough (now) to hang with GSP physically, but Penn is way too technically advanced for GSP to handle.
no one can handle his riddum
sorry I had to

GSP takes this fight still, in m opinion gsp all round striking game is better, and as good as bjs take down defence is, if gsp wants to take him down, he eventually will
B.J. might be able to say that right now, but I think GSP is going to train like a madman and improve his striking game substantially for this fight. That's not to say that B.J. isn't a great striker, but given that they will have had over 4 months to prep come fight time, I don't think we can conclusively take their training strategies into account yet. Just my opinion.

This fight can go either way. Their first fight was loooong time ago before any had a title around their waist at that time. Probably the most difficult fight to predict because these guys are at a whole different level when something like this is at stake. OMFG I can't wait for this fight! LOL. Daym, good luck to both of these talented fighters.
gsp is stronger and faster but i believe bj is far more precise with his punches and ground game. i think for gsp to take this he is going to have to connect with his stand up other wise i pick bj by sub

He can improve his striking all he wants, it still won't matter. The striking goes out the window when you are constantly jabbed in the face. Who cares if he takes BJ down...that is BJ's bread and butter. I still see BJ coming away with the victory. He is too focused on this fight and that is scary!!!

We know....he knows very little english so we have to hear these same sayings before every fight. I think that his shorts will cut off the circulation to his legs and that will stop the leg kicks and takedowns and then BJ will sub him in any way he wants
