He can improve his striking all he wants, it still won't matter. The striking goes out the window when you are constantly jabbed in the face. Who cares if he takes BJ down...that is BJ's bread and butter. I still see BJ coming away with the victory. He is too focused on this fight and that is scary!!!
We know....he knows very little english so we have to hear these same sayings before every fight. I think that his shorts will cut off the circulation to his legs and that will stop the leg kicks and takedowns and then BJ will sub him in any way he wants
I know what you mean about GSP's tight shorts. It always looks like he's smuggling grapes.
I still think there's just to many variables to calculate this fight. So much speculation, but these are top of the crop mixed martial artists and athletes - they bring that extra level, that sixth sense and what have you.
People in there camps are going to be pushing them to the limits while saying the same things - we the fans get to experience two top notch fighters meeting again as totally focused, complete fighters, and importantly champions. There's going to be dynamite behind each punch/kick thrown and it's going to be fuckin awesome.
Apparently, when it comes to people whom do not train with real disciplines, they seem to think that all fighters stay the same and never truely improve. They believe GSP(hands down) will lose to BJ Penn, Anderson Silva can never be beat(keep in mind he never truely had even Patrick Cote in any real danger until the injury), Fedor is invincible, and that others fighters are always going to be boring, lame, counter strikers, etc...I thought when you learn a discipline, as myself trains in three, you improve with every fight, tournament, or training day? Very odd way of thinking. Especially considering anybody can be beat on any given day when it comes to game plans people. If one executes correctly, then game over.
GSP takes this fight, in my opinion gsp all round striking game is better
Can you name a striker that GSP has fought for that claim to be valid?
I know it's just your opinion, and I don't mean to pick on you. However, I just don't understand why people think GSP has great striking, let alone better striking than BJ. Let's take both to an extreme level:
1. GSP was beaten senseless by a natural, ground-specialist, albeit heavy-handed LW (Serra).
2. BJ went the distance with arguably the best precision striking LHW/mixed martial artist in the game (Machida).
this fight is going to be incredible. i hope GSP wins. They fought a long time ago and i think GSP is gonna take it. I kno BJ has new and improved cardio but the longer it goes the better it is for GSP. Omg i cant wait. lol there is gonna be so many arguments over this fight. these two are some of the most loved fighters in mma
