i feel bad for the guy. he hasn't been the same since his sister disappeared. i didnt realize that she was presummed dead this year back in march. thats gotta be a tough thing to bounce back from. and im sure fighting is like all he knows so it's gotta be hard on the guy to just stop.

His next major fight was on February 2, 2004 against Randy Couture, a rematch, after Vitor lost the first. Despite agonizing over his sister Priscila Belfort who disappeared on January 9, Vitor won the fight in 49 seconds when a seam from his glove cut Couture's eyelid, prompting a referee stoppage. Another rematch took place on August 21, 2004. Couture didn't consider that fight to be the rubber match, but rather a continuation of the second fight. Couture won via doctor stoppage after the third round, due to accumulated punishment and a cut which was opened by Couture. (As of March 28, 2006, Priscila is presumed by Brazilian authorities to have been kidnapped and killed, by suspected drug dealers.[1])

Vitor's performance isn't the same against top-tier fighters. He's only good, and "back" against cans.

yeah i knew she was missing back then, and i never heard anything about her being found. but i just saw today they presummed her dead in march this year.

Yeah he's never been the same since his sister was kidnapped.As for him beating Randy Couture-That's a joke he never beat Randy.That fight should've been ruled a no contest.

i know what you are saying, i think he just got derailed at a bad time in his career, i think he was just really finding himself as a fighter whern his whole world got turned upside down. then all the sudden he didnt want to strike anymore he was all about jiu jitsu. he was good. and when he decides to let his hands go he is dangerous. can or not. he just has something holding him back it seems like.

yeah and he knew it, he said right after the fight that wasnt how he wanted to win.

I feel bad for the guy. He's got all the tools like we all know...but that would have a huge affect on anybody.

Hopefully she'll turn up safe for Vitor's sake.

In the meantime he needs to stop fighting while his mind is all screwed up, or else he could end up seriously hurt.

Vitor's good on the ground has an excellent well rounded striking game and is extremely fast.He just can't seem to put it all together.
