Win or lose, Vitor Belfort will always be my favorite fighter of all time. What happned with his sister must be very upsetting to vitor and he will never be the same. We should give him credit that he still does fight, and its still a joy to see him doing so. I hope that he somehow pulls his mental game and all his physical skills together and finds his stride. He is still relatively young and has the tools it takes to become champion once again. Chuck didnt hit his until a couple years ago, so theres still hope. Maybe he should take some time off. THen i would like to see a rematch between him and Tito somehow, maybe he if tito loses to chuck and goes to pride to fight for more money (even tho hes gettin good $ in ufc.)

i'd like to see him clear his head and then go train with bas rutten for awhile.. bas is a good influence on guys, and is obviously an outstanding teacher and mentor. we could still see vitor bounce back some day. i thik when he comes to grips with his personal life and moves on he will be good again. and possibly very dangerous. there has to be a rage building inside him, i'd like to see him machine gun punch guys across the ring via wanderlei again.

Would ya'll stop making excuses for the guy. He has a clear head, are yall in his fucking body? You dont know what he feels. Many people go through shit in their daily life, don't mean their bringing their problems to work. I'm sure the man wants to win and his sister has nothing to do with it right now. that was long ago. Face it, HE'S A BUM!!!
I would hate to see ya'll compete..."ohhh my dog died, thats why I lost the fight"

I'd say not knowing if one of my sisters was dead or not would probably weigh on me until I actually knew the truth.
Face it, YOU'RE A PRICK!!!
Can't compare a pet dying to something like this.

I was trying to be a lil funny but the truth is, I think eventually he got over it, now it's just an excuse, so I think people need to get over it, he's just not that good compared to fighters of today. Back day he looked good against sub par fighters like tank abbot, and a very green Wandy.

A death in the immediate family is NEVER looked upon as an excuse.
If you have ever lost someone close to you(i.e. Mother, Father, Brother, or Sister) at an EARLY age who did NOT die of natural causes, it's not something you just up and forget about within the first few years.
It's an ongoing process, and I'd say not knowing whether or not she is truly gone will way heavily on his mind for years and years to come.
Now is it affecting him? That I can't tell you. It all depends on the guy's willpower which no one truly knows but him.

In what universe is what you said funny?
People that say things like you said are either
1. A total fuckwad
2. 14 years old trying to prove they can talk to grownups and be witty...and just for the record, no 14 year old is witty
Since you have not done anything to archieve the elite "Fuckwad" status, you are forever 14 years old to me, regardless of your true age.
The sad part is, I agree with the point you made AFTER you proved your age. I am not saying that the loss of his sister is something to "get over", but in my opinion it is very definitely affecting his fighting and he is going to get hurt if he keeps stepping in the ring.
I think he needs to find a way to deal with the loss of his sister (not an easy task) and become a more focused fighter, or retire from the ring and become a trainer to other fighters.

i think everyone deals with loss different. i get the feeling his personal life has affected his training, which effects his fights. i am fueled by situations like his. my life has been loss after loss friends family, i spent time locked up. so i have fed off it. but not everyone can do that. i guess my mentality is different. i feel sorry for vitor, and i understand what he is going through. i respect him for coming out and fighting anyway. thats part of being a man. if i lose someone dear to me i feel i have to win a fight. its my way of balancing things. so harlem, i dont know if you train, but if my dog dies a week before the fight. its gonna be a bad day in the cage for who ever is in front of me.
