I think it's BS to say there aren't any fights left for Silva. If that's the case, it's time for the UFC to get creative here and think outside of the box (ie catchweights). There are several super-fights that could be put together that would get ratings through the roof and provide Spider with stiff competition at the same time. Just off the top of my head (some may be far-fetched, but intriguing nonetheless)
- GSP
- BJ
- Rampage
- Wand
- Machida
- Chuck
- Shogun
- Forrest

Sure, if he can find a way to sneak a crobar into the Octagon.

Besides, after fighting BJ Penn in another meaningless intra-weight match-up come January, St-Pierre will have earned a bout where the risk-reward ratio benefits him more than his opponent.
|
As for the actual topic, my 5 desirables would be Demian Maia, Matt Lindland, Gegard Mousasi, Lyoto Machida, and Fedor.

that is a poor list, robbie lawer, would be over very quickly,
the only reason i would want 2 see him fight matt lindland is so he could knock a hole in lindlands face,
my list would be
1. hendo re-match
2. filho
3. bisping
4. wandy silva
5. rampage

i would love to see him finish his career going against:
Rampage
Okami to finish the rumors of okami having a chance
Lindland
GSP

ya even the thought of Bisping getting his brain handed to him through his nose is pretty good.. but putting him in that situation means the UFC conciders him for title contention and that is nowhere near reality...
my top 5:
1) Okami- to erase the loss... Anderson TKO rd. 3
2) Hendo- a rematch is kind of mandatory... Hendo won rd 1... and if he can keep that up and fight his fight it could be more interesting... but i have the spider winning again
3) Rampage- i really wanna see these 2 duke it out i dont think this will happen unless Rampage gets a title shot if he beats Wandy... but Rampage has a chin and can hit hard and i think this is the 2nd best option imo at the LHW... Anderson UD
4) Wandy- if this is the real Axe Murderer then it would be an all out slugfest.. and what makes this different than the Rampage fight Wandy has a ground game that would give Silva difficulty so i think this would be very entertaining... Silva UD ;D (A)
5) Kung Le- i just want to see the stand up war part of this fight... cuz if A Silva just wanted to win the fight i think he would take him down and submit him or just pound him out.. i think this would be a very interesting fight on the feet because Kung come at you from weird angles and is also pretty much a tactician

Since he has six fights left on his contract, I'm thinking that he'll finish them, so I'm only considering fighters currently within Zuffa [I'm including WEC fighters because there is a solid rumor of a merge from WW through LHW classes].
In descending order, I'd like to see him fight:
6) Okami...this is a fight that needs to happen.
5) Sonnen...since he won't fight Filho, I'd love to see him tear up Sonnen, particularly if Filho doesn't come back strong and Chael gets past him somehow.
4) Evans...I'm not a fan of Evans and I'd like to see him pwned.
3) Jackson...I think a fight with Rampage would be competative.
2) Machida...I doubt it will ever happen, but it's a dream fight for me. If a chess match could somehow be described as poetry in motion, it would look like this.
1) Henderson rematch. If Anderson loses at MW, this will have to happen, but I think it would be more interesting at LHW, actually. I think Henderson is the best bet at MW to beat him within Zuffa's fold, and I'd actually favor him at LHW.
I have zero interest in seeing Anderson beat the shit out of Bisping, Liddell or GSP, and I believe that's exactly what would happen. I do think it would be funny to watch him pwn Brian Stann, but I don't find Stann interesting enough to actually make the list...he'd be something like 8. Cote would not make the list either, for that matter.
If he was to continue his career outside of the UFC, I'd like to see him fight Lindland, Mousasi, Akiyama and Misaki. I have no interest in watching Fedor break of Anderson's arm or relocate his knee, and I believe that's exactly what would happen.
