i tolerate that for the same reason that i tolerate people referring to slayer as death metal. because it's completely understandable and i get exactly where they're coming from. i mean, unless they delve into it a little bit, what else are they supposed to think?

I always hate when you're at a party for a PPV and somebody who's also their tells you they're an MMA geek too. You think you've found a likeminded individual, and you proceed to ask them who they love most and tell them your faves and they look at you like you're speakin greek. The only fighters they know are TUF coaches and Chuck and Kimbo, but they act like they know stuff.

MMA POSERS! DAMN.

I'm not trying to put on a cape and become some anti-rape-choke-joke posterboy. The guy started a thread about things that make him unhappy, and I felt at least one of his things didn't apply to me; and this did.

Did anyone think that "Rape Choke" might be a term used in self defense classes? Maybe Rogan was just stating a fact.

2 months ago my sister in law asks me what I am doing for the weekend. I tell her there is a UFC event I am going to watch. She says:

"UFC? Isn't that where they kill people?"

So I would say having to deal with the wildly outlandish perception of MMA by many non-fans as one of the things I dislike about being an MMA fan.
