“Rashad fought the perfect fight, he obviously studied Chuck and worked hard on his game plan,” he said. “He may be undefeated but everyone is there to be beaten and I would like to be the first one to do it.”
A fight between Shogun and Rashad would definitely be one that MMA fans would look forward too, but I think Rua would have to get his first win in the octagon before the fight would be set up.
A fight against Rich Franklin for his comeback fight would be interesting (even though I'd be pulling for Rich), and a fight against the winner of Cane/Sokou would be guaranteed fireworks. No matter who he fights though, Shogun needs to make a statement. After his loss to Forrest and over a year layoff, Shogun is going to have to show the fickle mainstream fans that he is still one of the top three Light Heavyweights in the world.
Hopefully he can string together a win or two and get back into contention. There are a handful of great fights for him at 205 to do so, and that's just with the landscape as it is now. There no telling what new and exciting matchups will appear on the horizon after the next UFC.

I can't wait for Shogun to come back, and start laying waste. The unfortunate thing is, that even if he KO'd Rashad, nobody would give him any credit. People would still be trying to talk like he was washed up because of his loss to Forrest.
Shogun is a WARRIOR. By the truest sense of the term. I wouldn't bet against him, no matter who he was fighting.
