I don't want this fight!!! I'm a big Shogun fan and I also love to watch Machida fight. Both of these fighters at their peak would be an awesome battle. Machida is a badass and I would rather Shogun fight Mark Coleman or someone else after being out so long with knee problems. Let Shogun shake off some ring rust and get a few fights in before you throw in him in a match with an elite.

Okay, the thread could've been titled differently.
But, dude didn't bash. Saying Machida likes to run, and doing it profanity-free and such, is not fighter bashing. Shall we dig up some old Tito, Brock, or Kimbo threads? Too many double-standards. Relax people.
Onto the fight/rumor. Even though I'm not a huge fan, I'll take Machida against almost any LHW until I see him lose a fight. Shogun + injury/rehab/time off/lackluster fight in UFC debut/Machida's "elusiveness" = a bad matchup in his first fight back.

This is so bad if true. Shogun is coming off major surgery and the first fight he gets is against Machida? Also, fighting Shogun will not warrant a titleshot for Machida. Shogun doesnt have a single win in the ufc under his belt. I don't see the point of this fight. Only thing I can see is that Shogun will be taking an express to a titleshot if he beats Machida. Or Dana is so not interested in promoting either of them that he doesnt give a shit what happens in this fight and just put the fight together for the hell of it. He's prolly only interested in keeping one of them and this might be the fight to see who stays in the UFC.

I don't agree with you with the running away comment. Machida fights smart. He is elusive, but he attacks. He'll attack when coming backward, and forward. His style is something of aquired taste to a degree. It's easy to look past the level of talent to the fact that he does seem to bounce around and away.
However, I do not take any offense to what you said. I don't personally understand why some of the people here chose to get so angry. You disagreed with them, but you weren't profane about it, and in my opinion you weren't bashing.
