Chuck is still probably the biggest draw in the UFC and the most popular fighter in MMA. Im not so sure that he is going to fade away just yet. Its not like he got dominated he was winning until he got caught with that 1 punch. I dont think he will be able to win the title again is his career again. As for Chuck I dont think you put him against Shogun though. I mean if Chuck was to loose that fight it will be really bad. The UFC built up Shogun and spent all that money on his so I doubt they would want to see him go 0-2 in the UFC.

This opens a Chance for Chuck to fight in December possibly against Machida since Thiago go hurt. Maybe you have Chuck fight the winner of Vera/Jardine. The UFC is still a business and we all know that Chuck is Danas boy so im sure they will give him a fight they think he can win.

I think UFC saw Rashad as a fight he could win ( same was with Keith ). There are no easy fights for Chuck unless they give him complete can.

IMO this was his last chance to get a title shot. I really like Chuck but Rashad has showed that he has issues with counter punchers. That is why I don't see him winning against Machida.

At this point he can have few "superfights" that will get him a big paycheque since he is one of the biggest draws

Chuck is a striker and everyone knows that. I think MMA has finally caught up with Chuck. The thing about Chuck is that everyone knows he is not going to try to take you down. So when all these fighters fight him they only have to worry about that one aspect of the game. Chuck needs to evolve a little more and try take downs every once in awhile to through fighters off.

The same thing has happend to Matt Hughes too. The fighters now are younger faster and more rounded. I know going for takedowns isnt part of Chucks game but if he wants to ever get another title shot I think he might need to start changing his gameplan.

Chuck should fight a lower ranked fighter, if he continues to fight and Evans should fight Machida to be the #1 contender and fight Forrest. Meanwhile, Griffin should either train and stay in shape to fight one of these guys or perhaps get a non-title fight in the near future.

I think Chuck needs to take some time off to consider his options and one consideration he should make is to make the jump to Heavyweight. He has talked about it in the past so it's not totally out of left field. It would give him a fresh start, just look how it rejuvenated Couture's career. I'm sure he's got the weight cut down to a science but at his age, it's got to take a bit of a toll on his body. The division is in dire need of some star power and there are some intriguing match ups waiting for him. Kongo, Werdum, Mir, Nog, Lesnar and even Couture one more time. How great would that be to see both these guys finish their careers capping off their rivalry that put this sport back on the map.

I just think the road up the light-heavyweight ranks is pretty steep right now, at this point in his career and this is something he should consider.

I don't think Chuck is done yet but lets face it, he doesn't have that many fights left in him.

I think they need to pull the trigger on a Rashad/Forrest match. I think Rashad put the stamp on that match with one big right hand. Which it sounds like that's exactly what's going to happen. There's nothing worse than watching a champion sit on his title waiting for a contender. If they're going to make somebody wait on the sidelines it should be one of the contenders rather than the champion. I do think Machida does need a little bit more exposure before he challenges. Skill wise, he's ready for the shot no doubt about that. The UFC needs to do a better job of promoting him as I do think he can have that same allure to him that Anderson Silva has... Basically that you don't fuck around with this guy. As far as opponents doesn't Shogun need a dance partner for around December? If not Shogun, people have been throwing around Franklin's name to avenge his loss and that's not a bad idea either.

We all know Forrest/Chuck was Dana's wet dream for December but I don't think he's too disappointed that he can now set up Rashad/Forrest. Two home grown TUF Winners fighting for the title... I think it pretty much sells itself. It's an intriguing match up on a number of levels, including the masterminds behind each fighter's game plan. Couture vs. Greg Jackson.

Well as we all know by now, Rashad meets Griffin most likely in Dec (but I wouldn't be surprised to see this moved back to January).

Rampage will likely meet Wandy or Shogun

Lyoto is stil in limbo, and Thiago is nursing an injury.

Personally I want to see Rampage vs Shogun, and Wandy vs Lyoto.

Bonnar vs Chuck next would be cool with me.

I agree, moving up to heavyweight appears to be his best option at the moment. That, and having a stipulation added to his contract that states he doesn't have to fight black guys anymore....he seems to have trouble with them knocking him the hell out lol.
