I think Chuck needs to take some time off to consider his options and one consideration he should make is to make the jump to Heavyweight. He has talked about it in the past so it's not totally out of left field. It would give him a fresh start, just look how it rejuvenated Couture's career. I'm sure he's got the weight cut down to a science but at his age, it's got to take a bit of a toll on his body. The division is in dire need of some star power and there are some intriguing match ups waiting for him. Kongo, Werdum, Mir, Nog, Lesnar and even Couture one more time. How great would that be to see both these guys finish their careers capping off their rivalry that put this sport back on the map.
I just think the road up the light-heavyweight ranks is pretty steep right now, at this point in his career and this is something he should consider.
I don't think Chuck is done yet but lets face it, he doesn't have that many fights left in him.

I think they need to pull the trigger on a Rashad/Forrest match. I think Rashad put the stamp on that match with one big right hand. Which it sounds like that's exactly what's going to happen. There's nothing worse than watching a champion sit on his title waiting for a contender. If they're going to make somebody wait on the sidelines it should be one of the contenders rather than the champion. I do think Machida does need a little bit more exposure before he challenges. Skill wise, he's ready for the shot no doubt about that. The UFC needs to do a better job of promoting him as I do think he can have that same allure to him that Anderson Silva has... Basically that you don't fuck around with this guy. As far as opponents doesn't Shogun need a dance partner for around December? If not Shogun, people have been throwing around Franklin's name to avenge his loss and that's not a bad idea either.
We all know Forrest/Chuck was Dana's wet dream for December but I don't think he's too disappointed that he can now set up Rashad/Forrest. Two home grown TUF Winners fighting for the title... I think it pretty much sells itself. It's an intriguing match up on a number of levels, including the masterminds behind each fighter's game plan. Couture vs. Greg Jackson.
