I do know an in shape and healthy Shogun is scary tho. I just couldn't picture Shogun falling into Machidas gameplan like Nak or Tito did.
I think Shogun would be one of the only guys at LHW that could cut Machiads footwork off, make him eat leg kicks, force him up against the fence where he cant circle so much, and pound away at him with knees or strikes untill he falls for the TKO
JMO tho, Ive dreamt about this fight many times lol Hopefully we see it someday

imo Machida has a better striking game than Shogun. Better punches and better kicks. I do not see the situation you describe happening. If anything Machida will be the one leg kicking.
Also Machida will have the reach advantage. If Shogun tries to be too aggressive then machida will make him pay.
And yea Machida has a great clinch game as well. He trains with Anderson Silva...
personally, I think Shogun would fail to beat Machida. Machida = shogun 2.0 IMO. flame away

If you think that all that is necessary is to pay your house notes, to pay your TV notes, to go vote when there is an election, and to stand back during the rest of the year and watch as your country and way of life are replaced by a system in which you will be a slave in a concentration camp, you - not the conspirators - are guilty because you, by silent acquiescence, invite tyranny and oppression.

Well, I can't claim that Shogun would beat Machida, necessarily, but I know Lyoto is not Shogun 2.0. The major reason for this is the caution that Lyoto uses. He'd rather win most fights by hitting and not getting hit. You know, unanimous decisions. The only time Machida seems to pose any real danger is when you force him to. The way he fought Tito was very different from how he fought Soku, for instance. Both of those fighters had very different approaches to the 'Dragon'.
Shogun seems to want to win his fights by stoppage. That much seems clear to me.
In the end, I'd just like to see them fight. Yes, I do think Shogun's style puts him more at risk against Machida, but it'd make for a great fight and it could possibly pay off.

^And it's funny because he says he can KO them, but he doesn't really look like he even tries to or can imo.

That was the fight I was most excited about on that card, especially because I was getting it for free.
Its funny how much things change in less than 4 months, it used to be that you couldn't mention Lyoto on this board without at least half the people referring him to Kalib Starnes, now he's top of the food chain.

That's because those people are fucking morons and eventually weed themselves out.
