I feel like I'm witnessing a domestic violence dispute between two lesbian lovers. That's not to say that female MMA bouts don't have their moments...but most of those moments are short lived. Why? Because men are pigs. We see a great sweep, we marvel for about 1/2 a second over the sweep and then go back to desperately staring at her butt under the guise of admiring her "solid base". And I won't even mention what goes through our mind when we see one female throw up a triangle choke while the other desperately fights to get her face out of her opponents crotch.

Now if you'll excuse me I need to go read my hate mail.

The most popular woman fighter is Gina Carano, and she is more popular for her looks than for her skill. That's not a good thing.

Woman's MMA needs to be respected and enjoyed b.c of the fights, not b/c some hot chick is fighting. Until it gets to that point, Female MMA will be almost a sideshow attraction.

I don't see it getting to that point. The fact remains that most people don't want to see a woman get beat up. Then there's the fact that the worst male MMA fighter would KILL the best female MMA fighter. Gina Carano? Frag X 3 would kick her sweet, sweet, ass. And then drip hot candle wax on her...then strangle her with her own brazier....uh...ahem...

Gina would kick Frag's ass, and he'd let her; he likes to be dominated.

I remember reading an article leading up to the first EXC on CBS and the author made a comment along the lines of if Gina Carano reaches her full potential as a crossover star, she will not be in MMA long anyway because of other career options.

Lisa Leslie wnba (you could also say candace parker the best right now) and layla Ali female boxer I watch alot alot of highlights and yes sportcenter shows women sports too.

It will never get the Pub or fan base mens Athletics have gotten over the years, but it can be a good niche market that women can make careers doing and lively hoods with. Womens Tennis is the only thing that rivalved or surpassed its male counter parts as far as i can remember.
