Chuck Liddell vs. Forrest Griffin at UFC 92 (If all goes to plan)

I said it before and Ill say it again.

Doesn't matter in the UFC who deserves it. It matters what makes money. Forrest got his shot after a 2 fight win streak, and so will Chuck who cares?

I really don't give a shit either way, as long as the LHW title starts getting defended more than 2 times a year. Thats starting to get on my damn nerves. With all of the talent in the LHW division Im sure we can make a billion matchups, no need to have LHW title fights twice a year.

I don't get what you don't get about it. Rashad is tailor-made for Chuck to knock him out: a strong wrestler with decent hands. Liddell has KO'd three guys that fit that bill, twice each: Couture, Tito, Babalu.

No doubt he's improved dramatically, but I still can't understand why people are even giving Rashad a chance here.

I don't know why everyone is making a big deal about Machida.

Fitch had to win 7 or so fights to get his title shot.

Machida has yet to fight anyone in line for a title shot in the UFC.

Tito, same with the rest.

the highest ranked person he fought an beat was Soko, but again not at the top.

Machida should get a title shot but UFC doesn't have to give him one.

Chuck lost two fights and won one fight. First loss to Rampage number 2, then lost to Jardine def. top 10 at the time, then beat Wandy top 5 fighter which is more impressive than Machida who beat Tito, not even top 10, for his greatest victory in the UFC. That doesn't deserve a title shot imo. With that being said I am not impressed with Chuck getting a title shot for beating Rashad, I think he needs another fight before a title shot. As much as I hate to admit it Rampage should be next in line.

i think people hate on a chuck a lot based solely on his huge popularity. if he was never so popular but still had all the same wins and losses and he wasn't getting title shots the same people that hate on him would probably be fans. god forbid it even appears for a second that you're a n00b who only knows about chuck liddell. and what is chuck gonna do? say no thanks ufc i dont want a title shot? of course he's gonna let them treat him so well, anybody would.

Guys, please remember that above anything else the UFC is a business and the sole purpose of a business is to generate financial gain.

Chuck VS Forrest would sell HUGE. Arguably the two biggest names in the UFC right now facing each other?

That being said, I would love to see Liddell fight Henderson before getting another shot at the 205 strap. Not only do I think it needs to happen for the company, but I think it needs to happen for the purpose of MMA. To really determine where these fighters are in their careers.

Also, remember when Soko was the next big thing at 205 after KOing Arona and Little Nog? What happened to him next? He was fucking owner by Machida. Right.

I really like Machida and his style of fighting, but he's only really defeated one good fighter in Tito Ortiz.

Lesson: Never put too much stock into a fighter that bursts on to the scene with several quick KOs. Conversly, almost always put money on the guy that bursts onto the scene with several quick submission victories.

the reality is that both chuck and forest are 1d fighters, which will be a good match if and when they meet. however neither fighter is the best 205lb in the ufc. chuck has some tools, but relies on one punch, if he can't find the one punch than it's 50/50 that he wins the fight. forest is a little more diverse, as he tries to punch, kick and an occasional take down. he won the fight with rampage, but was no where near spectacular.

if they fight and regardless of who wins, they will both have their hands full with a true mma artist such as machida, silva, etc. on a side note, i've actually seen two guys fight that looked like each of them at a cracker barrel parking lot. the guy that looked like chuck won. lol.

So....lemme get this straight. Chuck & Forrest aren't 'True' MMA fighters like Machida, Silva, etc? Huh? Are you fucking serious?

Do you even watch MMA? I mean, I figure you do, your registered on the forums, but I can't imagine any REAL fan making that kind of stupid ass statement.

Machida is overrated, and of his 13 wins 8 have been decisions. The only real talent he's beaten is Ortiz & Franklin. Even then Ortiz almost finished him with that triangle attempt.

Forrest FINISHED Shogun, and is the current UFC LHW champion. Chuck has beaten a lot of badass muthas over the years, and FINISHED the vast majority of them.

I think that's all that needs to be said.
