I don't care if Liddell losses you still make that match, Dana would be crazy if he didn't make that fight happen, your talking about a 700k plus PPV buyrate or more and you scrap that just because Liddell lost?
What's the alternative Evens versus Forrest? what that 300k buys?
Or if Liddell losses maybe have Anderson Silva versus Forrest at UFC 92, maybe thats plan B. Who knows whats floating around in Dana mind.

I'm suprised that Dana is making Chuck fight Evans first, I was expecting Chuck to be named no1 contender as soon as Rampage lost the belt.

Its crazy how everyone is looking straight past Rashad like the fight is already over. I know Lidell is a big favorite in this fight but Rashad ain't no push-over. Rashad is tough as nails with good boxing and wrestling. I'm hyped for Rashad vs Lidell big time.
I mean this is a big fight for Lidell too. Rashad is undefeated and he's a top notch LHW imo. It seems like more people give Jardine props then Rashad, and Rashad is better.
Rashad has always been one of my favorite LHW's

By that logic, Chuck doesn't deserve a title shot either. He lost 2 in a row and beat Wanderlei who at the time dropped him to losing three in a row and not a top 5 LHW. IF he beats Rashad, Rashad is also not a top 5 LHW.
So Machida still beats him out with the logic you used because he doesn't have the 2 losses that Chuck has had in his last 3 fights.

I think the Liddell vs Evans fight is likely to be one of the best fights of the yr. I think both guys have a phenominal chance to win.
I think a GP would be a great idea.

It's all about the money, not being fair. Just ask Machita. He really should be the one in line for a title shot, but honestly I'd rather see Chuck.

Please tell he what part of the game Rashad is better than Chuck at? Chuck has made his living as someone you cant take down (except that one dump by Randy) and just picks you apart after the sprawl please tell me how Rashad has a chance? The only thing you could possibly say is wrestling but then you gotta get Chuck down and hold him down no way Rashad wins Chuck 2nd round tko.

I figured as much or if not for the title fight, at least having Chuck on the NYE card. They strive for that every year since he is the biggest draw and that is when they have the most competition.
I dont see Liddell having a problem beating Rashad. He has faced fighters with the same style many times. Take down attempts will be stuffed and it will force Rashad to engage with Chuck until Evans gets rocked and ends via KO or TKO. I say it like that but I think it will be more difficult than that to give Rashad some credit.

So.....here is my take on this. Evans is a solid enough fighter where this is a dangerous fight for Chuck. That said, I am of the firm belief that Liddell will take Evans apart.

Chuck Liddell should not get a title shot, he should first worry about Evans, and then rematch Jardine
