Lyoto predicts fast fight against Thiago

At UFC 89, two unbeatable fighters will colide on the duel that will put one of them to meet a loss for the first time. With 13 win in a perfect card, Thiago Silva won 11 by knockout, and that’s why Lyoto Machida predicts a fast fight against him at UFC 88. “I believe this fight won’t go to decision… Thiago likes to fight aggressively, me too, he has good MMA techniques, so I believe this fight might finish before the third round”, said Lyoto, that is training hard. “I’m training a lot, actually I hadn’t stop training since my last fight. Now I’m doing a specifically training focused on Thiago, preparing my strategies and working on the physical preparation… I’m very focused”, said the athlete to TATAME.com.

why would lyoto say he likes to fight aggressively? majority of his fights go to decision, for his style is more of a wait for a mistake and counter type thing. I now think instead of calling him boring, im gunna say hes imo an extremely patient fighter. But, he got a bunch of boo's and negative feedback about being so patient with tito, so I truly think he might change his style to be a bit more aggresive. WAR THIAGO

Maybe he is already tired for being elusive fighter (it requires a lot of energies lol)...so Lyoto likes to fight aggressively this time.
We will see.

Is it safe to say that if he wins this bout, he will finally get his title shot?

I believe Lyoto. I think he'll finish this fight. I don't think it is entirely accurate to say he wasn't aggressive against Tito. He beat him up and Tito looked quite worse for the wear at the end of the fight, IMO.

Machida is like the fine wine of MMA fighters. He is really good but he is not for everyone. His style is definitely an aquired taste. Martial arts purists love him, while people who love mindless brawls in the middle of the octagon unfortunately do not. I will admit he can be difficult to watch some times but then out of nowhere he pulls something off that just makes you you go wow. Like that double kick, Low kick followed imediately by a high kick. That was truely a thing of beauty.

Yup I want Thiago Silva to win this one by TKO and hopefully he doesn't get careless. Yes Machida has a slow patient technique but hey, people want to see a fight not some guy pacing around the ring for the entire match waiting to counter something. I've seen Thiago get out of some crazy situations so I see him winning this one in a brutal fashion to shut out Machidas sorry winning streak. Would you want Machida as a champion? I sure don't. Sorry just not a fan of him.

I think Soko is twice the fighter that Thiago is, Lyoto won't have too much of a problem in this fight. I do contribute Sokodjou's poor performance not only to Lyoto's style but to possibly Octagon jitters as well.
