“I would fight anyone of the UFC light weights, but the problem is that I will never put my foot in the octagon after they (UFC) tried to be funny...”

I meant to ask this in the other thread, but what does this mean? How did they try "to be funny..."? Does he just mean the offer was ridiculous? It must be something more than that.

Here is the scoop

Hansen asked for a 6 figure contract and then Dana asked are you fucking serious. Then Dana started laughing so hard he fell out of his chair, then lost control of all his bowls an shit himself.

Then Dana standing there with shit oozing down his leg an out of his pants says You don't want to be a fucking fighter, you want to be a fucking comedian .

lol

Just so people don't get bent out of shape, i made that up an none of its true.

I think just like all sports in america you have an abundance of fair weather fans and a cross section of the fan base is true die hard fans that know there stuff and a don't care if you lose two fights in a row and still follow the guy.

Hell i'm a chicago bears fan(through the wanstadt/Jauron era) who goes to training camp and as many games as possible and never miss a game on tv. i know all about the fair weather fans switching allegiance when the team falls on hard times. It comes with the territory of being a popular sport in america.
I think he is a great fighter to watch but could care less what this guy thinks of american fans but i bet if affliction came a knocking with a bunch of cash he would have no problem taking our money and then bashing us if we were to boo him during his fight.

No doubt mma fans in japan are different the whole society in japan was built on honor and not showing their emotions of course there is gonna be a vast difference between us. (edit) i'm not trying to say i know how the japanese culture has developed over time or slighting them with emotion comment just trying to show the difference between the cultures as a whole

haha i know the feeling, im a diehard 49ers fan...

and also i never got the feeling hansen was being racist, i just get the feeling he doesnt like the u.s.(like many europeans) and oviuosly doesnt like the ufc...

i agree with hjis notion of the casual fans being stupid and abundent here in the u.s. but at least he realizes that true fans come from here as well..

Or maybe it has nothing to do with money.

But it would be nice if he said what the problem is instead of saying dumb shit over an over.
C'mon Dork, really? Aside from the stuff you admit making up later in the thread, you're totally off base and incorrect here. When PRIDE FC folded, he was offered roughly half of what he was making in Japan for a long term contract. He declined, and in response, the UFC tied him up legally for ages so he couldn't fight for anyone else.

That's why he's pissed at Zuffa, that's why he's "talking shit"--if you call talking shit answering a question in an interview honestly. He was asked if he'd thought of coming to the UFC, and he responded. He didn't go out and schedule a press conference or drag some reporter in off the street.

Note that when GSP was asked about moving up in weight, when GSP and Liddell have answered questions about opponents other than the ones' they were scheduled to fight; they caught flack for it, and their fanboys jumped to their defense and said "they're only answering questions honestly."

The same standard applies here. He doesn't want to fight for the UFC, he's not looking to fight in a future date for the UFC, he's not burning bridges, because they were already burned for him. I understand you can't necessarily blame the UFC for trying to play hardball with him and coming to the table with business as the bottom line, but you can't blame him for feeling jerked around.

I'd ask any one of you who is offended by what he's said how you would react if you showed up to work tomorrow, and wherever you work had been sold; with some smug bastard offering you the same job at half the pay...then when you declined and tried to get another job, they messed with whatever they could to prevent you from working. I'm sure you'd all be more understanding and give far more respectful soundbytes when the subject was brought up in the future.

Seriously though, it sounds like they must have had some heated words. I mean he's acting like the UFC is the WORST place in the world regardless of who the boss of the org. is... I'm happy to see him fight some of the great LWs out there in Japan, but don't say you would fight everyone in the UFC and then talk about how you'd rather have bleeding hemorrhoids and crushed balls than ever fight there. What kind of shit is that? So I was wondering what would drive him to spew such vitriol, and that it couldn't just be the contract since it sounds like he was offered something greater than what he made in Pride.

Edit: Ah... just read your post rivet. Makes sense.

If you are afraid to fight in the UFC, just say so. Real fighters should be willing to fight anywhere. I have no respect for fighters like this.

If you have no reading comprehension, just don't type. Real posters don't talk about things they clearly don't understand. I have no respect for posters who don't have a clue as to what they're talking about.

He's not afraid of anyone--with the exception of BJ Penn, he's actually facing better fighters than the UFC currently has in the LW division.

He despises Dana, because Dana jerked him around.

As much as i believe Dana jerks people around an offers low ball contracts. I believe Hansen is really full of shit.

For his last Pride fight Hansen made $15,000 so that means UFC only offered him 7500 per fight.

An what makes it worse is they just signed Marcus Aurelio an he makes some where around 35/35 a fight. I mean he made 40,000 losing to Tyson.

So i really doubt they only offered him that. Also seeing Marcus lost his last 2 fights before coming into UFC.

So I think Hansen is full of shit.
