Yes I agree that Spike has done very well with the UFC but it is strictly busines and Spike owes UFC nothing.
What I was getting at in my post was that someone stated that the UFC had to be pissed that Pride was advertising on Spikes network so Spike obviously feels that they owe the UFC nothing and it is business as usual as there is no loyalty there and should the UFC (I would not be surprised if Dana opened his mouth at some point) express anger or dissrespect towards Spike I would not be at all surprised if Pride stepped right up and took that time slot but knowing Pride and for the greater good of business that is not Prides goal. They want to compete on a different network in the same time slot and completely trump the UFC in ratings. It is certainly a project in the makig but with Prides talent pool and unmatched production all that is left is getting the naem out there and I would guarantee that their shows (be it a reality show like TUF) would be better than the UFC's.
Pride has great marketing brains as well and they have seen the success of the UFC's TUF series, Pride could easily do something similar with the Pride USA company and it would likely be much better as UFC is very cheap when it comes to everything including production, for god's sake they are still using that same lame rainbow lighting above the octagon that they have been from the beginning.
It is time for an upgrade in production for the UFC, they would claim that it gives you the old skool essence having the lighting just as it was in 93 but they are just cheap, an upgrade in production would be awesome and it is worthy of the expense.
