Silva vs. Lindland?
It seems that the UFC is having talks with Matt Lindland to possibly give him a title shot at the newly crowned middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Lindland still has one fight left on his WFA contract and who knows how much the UFC and Dana White are willing to shell out. Hopefully this goes through, cause these are definately two of the top middleweights, if not tops at the moment.
Feel free to add your thoughts!

Sweet.
UFC will need to dig deep for this - I believe he gets a ppv% from WFA as well as a very decent fee.
See above for my prediction. Silva has more than enough time to knock him cold a la David Terrell as Lindland could only win by decision imo.
git.

i think the UFC was afraid of a Franklin/Lindland fight to begin with. we all know damn well that Lindland deserved the fight with Tanner over Franklin. He was suppose to get the fight after UFC 52, but then Rich got it. Then he was suppose to fight Rich at UFC 56, but then he was banned for that stupid sponsorship fiasco. now they want to bring him back to fight Silva...so he can't beat Franklin? f*ck that! im glad they want to bring Lindland back. he's probably #1 at 185 in the world. he was THIS close to beating Rampage, and i still kinda think he was cheated a decision. if Lindland beats Silva, he'd better fight Franklin. that fight needs to happen, cuz it's been talked about for way too long. is the UFC still trying to protect Rich? who knows...maybe not since they fed him to Anderson, but we'll see right? WAR LINDLAND!

You can't compare Silva's striking to Rampage's (esp for that fight - he was crap). Watch the Terrell fight for evidence that he can't take a KO blow.

This fight would be great. I think Anderson would take it though.

Another Question
When would this fight go down do you think? There is still the TUF 4 winner to get through (hopefully sooner than later, it won't last more than a minute), and then Mike Swick has been running his mouth lately on how he wants Silva. Swick is a recognizable fighter in the UFC and would probably draw decent ratings. Would Lindland fight after these two or somewhere in between.
