I would think they would wait and see how the USA debut turns out before they plan another show. They must be confident that they will succeed here.
I read somewhere that Wanderlei said he'd be fighting on the February card. This will be good for PRIDE because he is PRIDE's most recognized fighter in the States.

They've sold 10,000+ tickets already which is already deemed a success. I guess they're pretty confident.
But for sure, they need to make a good card for February. Top fighters fighting other top fighters.

Yeah I know how many tickets they've sold so far. They can sell many more in Japan though. That's why I am surprised they are having another one in the US so soon.
I'll be one of the 10,000 plus there on Saturday. Glad to see PRIDE is doing well.

I find something really odd. With the popularity of Pride in Japan, along with monster sold out shows over there, how the hell did they lose their major television deal with Fuji or whatever? And why are/were they unable to get another tv deal? I mean you look at the crowd in Pride's japan shows and they're totally packed, yet they can't get a tv deal?
What's up?

They also want exposure outside of Japan too. It's not so much about ticket sales, it's about trying to conquer the market over here. To let people know who they are and what they bring. They'll get bigger and bigger just like the UFC if all goes well.

They lost their TV deal because of Yakuza connections, or supposed Yakuza connections. I also heard it had something to do with PRIDE trying to sell the rights to air their Bushido event to Fox Sports and Nippon withought informing Fuji TV.
I know that PRIDE is closer to a new deal with Nippon or another Japanese network because they have signed Mike Tyson, and Tyson is still extremely popular in Japan. Hopefully everything works out for them so they can continue to put on great events for us fans.

Speaking of Tyson, he's fighting tomorrow night on PPV in his first fight of his World Tour. 4 round exhibition. I guess if he looks half decent and gives the fans a show, it can reboost his popularity as a somewhat legitimate boxer rather than the caricature he's branded as.

SPeaking of Tyson... did you see that he was interested in fighting Texan boxing champ Ann Wolfe??? Not sure why he'd want to do that. I mean if he won he'd be knocked on for fighting a girl then if he lost he'd for sure be knocked out and his career woudl be over lol. Either way it'd be a bad idea.
