Ok, now that that is out of the way, here is what I have to say about that. Fitch was the biggest guy that Georges fought. IMO that is why some can say he looked small. I think he has had a noticeable increase in muscle mass since he has started training with Jackson's camp.
As far as him being winded from the first round? He twice took down a bigger guy who has been damn near impossible to take down, and passed a guard that (in the UFC) had not been passed, and got to full mount. If he was winded it was because he was totally putting it on Fitch. Oh yeah, he knocked him down striking too. If you guys hadn't noticed, Jackson's camp has obviously figured out that GSP is VERY well conditioned, so they always go for the takedown right away and grind out the first round fighting tooth and nail for position to sap the opponent's gas tank.
So if Hughes left halfway through the third round let's think about what he saw that "didn't impress him" to the point of leaving.
-14 seconds into the round, GSP lays Fitch out.
-40 seconds into the round GSP goes for a RNC
-50 seconds into the round Fitch reverses it and has GSP on his back (something I don't think Hughes was ever able to do)
-120 seconds into the round GSP gets the reversal.
-150 seconds into the round (when Hughes is so unimpressed he leaves) Fitch starts getting up again.
If he would have only stuck around another 50 seconds, he could have heard Goldie say "he could very well be the most athletically gifted athlete ever to grace the octagon" Then Hughes might have been impressed. Lol.
No, Matt, you being completely tooled in every aspect of the game by Thiago was MUCH more impressive. (working on inventing a font for sarcasm as we speak...)
Come to think about it, the second and the third round were the only ones that were even close to competitive in that fight.
No, at this point, it is not smack-talking. It is sour grapes. Also, Fitch would tool Hughes.

Do you realize that Hughes STARTED that whole "Not being impressed" shyt with his comments to GSP? After the 1st GSP/BJ Penn fight (where GSP barely won) Hughes went back to GSP's locker room and told him "You are lucky you won that. I wasn't impressed with your performance" before GSP went to the hospital.
When GSP confronted Hughes after his 2nd fight with BJ Penn, he was just following suit and responding to Hughes the same way Hughes came to him. Hughes got pissed at it, but he was the 1st one to do it. You reap what you sow.
Anyway, GSP aplogized for his 1st comments, while Hughes never apologized for his. He's a certified dick is basically the point of this post.

I get the Hughes disdain that people have, I really do. I understand why some people don't like the guy. But the animosity and hate is getting ridiculous. The headline could read, "Matt Hughes Nurses Baby Tiger Back To Health" and people would say, "fuckin Hughes and his jungle cats, always on a high horse."
Usually I agree with you on pretty much everything and I take your disdain for Hughes and understand it. However, how come just because Hughes career is pretty much over, he can't give his opinion on his blog on his website. It's the same thing we are doing on here. He is just critiquing a fight.
All he really said was GSP looked small and looked like he was winded after the first round, Fitch shouldn't have been countering GSP because GSP was faster and he left early to beat everyone out of the building. Tim was cool as hell and shot the shit with me talking about going to look for some women and where he was going out that night. Matt was rude, arrogant, and just condescending in general. In fact, I think one of the things that bothered me most was that he never really looked me in the eye or even really looked at me. Just looking around and you could tell it was bothering him and he wanted to be somewhere else.

Thats all good and well.. But im not gonna wade through a 7 page thread of pointless "Matt Hughes is a bastard, I met him in vegas, he punched my grandmother in the stomach bullshit" I could honestly take him or leave him.. BUt I do think that alot of times just because he speaks his mind hes labled as a douche.. I dont know what happened in the locker room after GSPs BJ fight..
