Hughes should really learn to keep his mouth shut. His perspective wasn't needed in this scenario, especially when it highlights how much of a douchebag he is.

Every one keeps saying this guy is a prick in person. I always never agreed but i'm starting to realize why people are saying this.....

To be honest, I didn't find the fight boring but I did fall asleep during round 3 and woke up when it was over.

If the guy was being interviewed and was asked and he answered, at least he was honest but those are pretty harsh words. Maybe Hughes just doesn't believe in the shirt coating BS we've become accustomed to.

I don't know. It doesn't sound anything different than what Liddell says about fighters.

I just want Hughes to fight Serra and retire. I don't want to see his legacy ruined and he's losing fans as each week passes. I'm still a fan. Cocky comments or not, he's still not pulling the kind of crap that Brock Lesnar pulled.

I think there's a difference when you're speaking to someone you hope to challenge and think you can beat, versus talking to someone who has beat you twice and there'll never be a third match. GSP was in the process of challenging Hughes, so talking down his performance is gamesmanship and confidence. Hughes doing it to GSP at this point is undeserved and arrogant ignorance.

Correction, there has already been 3 fights between GSP and Hughes. Hughes submitted GSP via arm bar the first fight, GSP TKO'd Hughes the 2nd time and then submitted Hughes the 3rd time.

what does liddell say about fighters? maybe some comments about tito that I can remember, but thats all warranted tito is a donkey. But GSP has shown hughes respect in thier past 2 fights (the i wasnt impressed by your preformance was just pre fight crap) hughes found something to run with and did a good job of blowing that up.

You just answered your own question. He trashes Tito every time he gets a chance and he's also trashed Kevin Ferguson on more than one occasion.

If anything Hughes has the same type of relationship with GSP that Chuck does with Tito minus the personal friendship BS. He's a guy that he's fought and they had a little personal trash talk.

And whether you like Tito or not, it doesn't justify people just trashing the guy.

The whole "Matt Hughes is a dick" thing from Serra was entertaining , and
I thought the dinner scene in TUF where Huges acted like a giant one to GSP was telling, and showed what a mild-mannered superhero GSP is
and what a dick Hughes can be. I don't put too much stock in what these guys (fighters in general) act like around each other as adversaries , but
on the show you get to see what they are like as people . Hughes seems like kind of a dick , Serra has an obnoxious personality but I like his straightforwardness , GSP seems humble . Didn't like Shamrock on the show , while Tito (even though he seems like a dick too) was pretty good as a coach , and I liked him for that . Rampage was the best one to have on TV so far . But I digress . I thought GSP took rd 2 off and coasted a lot in
rd 4 as well , but still did enough to win those . I was impressed with the other rounds a lot , and in a way by 2 & 4 because it may have been his strategy to help last 5 rounds .

Coming in 2009 : Brock Lesnar coaches on TUF and schools the guys on
the finer points of WWE style show(boat)manship for the UFC
