Exactly. He's not a better wrestler, but he's out wrestled the best of the best in the UFC WW division. Fitch is nothing new for GSP. I'm not taking anything away from Fitch and he deserves his shot, but GSP will whoop his ass.

Yes, but this wouldn't be nearly the upset. Fitch has actually fought and beat top opponents.

Exactly, Wrestling credentials don't always get you takedowns in mma, especially against gsp. Yes, Fitch does deserver a title shot. But if gsp fights bj again it would make for a great fight. I would be really excited for it.

Interesting interview. If BJ fights GSP/Fitch and wins the Welterweight title and holds both the WW and LW belts for some time, I wonder if it would change where people put in him there top p4p fighter lists.
While I'd rather see BJ/GSP, BJ/Fitch would be a great fight too, just not as much hype.
They should just do BJ vs GSP and Fitch

If it doesn't happen Penn v. Huerta/Florian will. But the UFC could still put it on as a superfight for the fans.

you know I use to really like GSP then I think what turned me off was when he started talking shit on Serra. I think that started the whole thing. And now I recognize and respect his fight game I just don't like the guy anymore. I made a sig bet that he will win,but only because I want Bj Penn to beat his ass.

Not to mention, Anderson defended his belt more times than Penn has.

Anderson wasn't formally the LHW champion. Anderson Silva didn't lose a controversial split decision to the current LHW champ. And Anderson has also said he doesn't want to go for the belt because of Machida. BJ is not going to fight tune ups in a division he used to be king. Especially when he has said he only wants to fight 3 times a year at most.
He deserves a shot more than anyone else currently in the division. Who can you say deserves it more?
Alves? No, hasn't proven he can make weight.
Kos? No, already beaten.
Karo? No, recent loses.
Diego? No, back to back loses.
Serra? No, trounced.
Hughes? No, see above.
So who should get a shot before BJ? No one, that's who. After Fitch is beaten, GSP will need a clear opponent and that will be BJ. Makes more sense than any other opponent.

I think it absolutely could do 700K with a good ad campaign and good undercard. If I remember correctly, the Couture/Sylvia card did 500k + and I think most of that was due just to the noteriety of Couture. Sylvia is not much of a draw. If you have two CURRENT champions going at it in a rematch, I would think it would subnstantially out do that show.

Agreed, not only Penn v GSP, but Nog vs Mir, Wandy vs Rampage?
700k is a very big possibility I think.

I like Fitch and want him to win, but at the same time want GSP win so BJ can beat him and shut everyone up about their last fight.
