Written letters are generally considered the most effective simply because people don't do it anymore and they take up (relatively) a ton of time.
Incidently, online petitions are pretty much ignored by the execs. To give you an example, the sci-fi show Firefly was cancelled by Fox and there was an online petition to bring it back that had a couple million names on it with verifiable e-mail addresses. It was ignored.
So how, I doubt the Fight Network is going to get that much attention.

Good point! I shall take your advice Prophet and send a letter.
Tell me though, is the phone call thing still valid when half the time, these days, we are getting someone in India?

Thats EXACTLY what I thought when I called! The lady seemed to know her job well but she had a strong accent. Plus, these call center workers obviously have no pull whatsoever in determining what channels are added. So, without a phone number to an executive we really just get lost in the system. I don't know, hopefully I'll get a response from The Fight Network. I would imagine they would be more help than anyone seeing how they stand to make the most money from such a deal.

Thank you for making me feel better for deleting all those petitions I've been getting for years.
Question: Isn't there some statistic used that for every letter received it equals X people? Ya happen to know?

Well..the closest thing I can thing of is the spam click-through rates...which are hovering at around one tenth of one percent (.001) to 3 tenths of one percent (.003). So they send out a spam message to 10 million people and get a click through rate of 10,000 people.
So..lets figure that John Q Public has a better rate for things like online petitions. Lets figure 1% and your petition has 1,000,000 people (HIGHLY unlikely even for the most beloved of causes) then that is only 10,000 people. No show or network is going to be shown to cover only 10,000 people's special interest. 10,000 people is equal to a .01 share in the Nielson ratings.
Shows get canceled for doing a 1 share in the Nielsons (1,000,000 people).
