Brutus, your title is misleading...there are a lot of "ifs" along the way...

I think it would.
Not unless you can somehow pretend the first Serra fight didn't happen and still go to sleep at night.

I am not scared homie. I just don't like to do sig bets anyways. And if something happens like Penn gets hurt ,like the Hughes fight, then I am stuck with GSP's ass on my sig for half a year.
Sound scared to me. If Penn is such a sure thing why don't you take the bet.

If you thought Tim was going to beat Fedor then you should NEVER sig bet
And I wish this news would have comed before because dec 27 is my birthday and I could have gone there, but I already got tickets to Argentina bought for jan 1st and theres no way I can get to go both places
Well, Fitch just became a very unpopular fighter....at least for his next fight anyway. If he wins, all people will be talking about is the guy that ruined Chrstmas for MMA fans.
Thankfully i'll be there live to HOPEFULLY see GSP beat Fitch but i've got a weird feeling about the match, hope i'm wrong.
I "want" GSP to win this fight but the problem is a "fat" BJ gave Georges all kinds of problems in that fight, granted GSP has gotten better since then, YET so has BJ. He's peaking, I think BJ avenges his loss and we get a rubbermatch in 09. Lets pray the MMA gods are feeling generous.
This fight is far from confirmed. GSP has to come out of his Fitch fight with
1. The Victory
2. No injuries or medical suspensions.
Either way I'll be so stoked to see this fight if it does happen. Sucks that I have to watch 2 of my favourite fighters clash again, but whatever.
War GSP
i just watched the first Penn/GSP fight a couple nights ago. i thought back to when i first watched it, and was afraid GSP would win, but couldn't pick a winner. i thought it was that close. then when GSP took the Split it sucked, but i felt he won.
now that i watched it again, i fully feel BJ won the fight. he kicked GSP's ass to the point where he almost quit between Rd 1 and 2 and with all the damage he did should have taken it. if Penn had the gas, he'd have never been taken down, and if he was he'd have gotten up. this is the problem with takedowns scoring points...Bas said it perfectly, if you get a takedown, but dont do anything with it, it should be nullified from the scorecard. GSP did nothing with his takedowns, he did no damage to BJ. it's why i dont get the 10 point must system, how its structured towards boxing yet takedowns seem to score all these points.
i agree both BJ and GSP have both gotten better since their first fight. but BJ with a gas tank is going to give GSP fits all night...and if the second fight happens, i feel BJ will take it, and then hold two belts
WAR BJ!!!

Any word on the weight class? I wonder whose belt will be on the line. Probably 170lbs.
Yes, 170.
Penn has changed his mind about things a couple times, but I've heard him recently say he plans to win the WW title and then retain and defend both the LW and WW titles.
To me that's selfish, not in the sense that he shouldn't be permitted to do it but because at the rate at which he wants to fight, it will mean a lot fewer title defenses.
I'd be a lot less enthusiastic about BJ holding and defending two belts than about Anderson Silva doing the same thing, simply due to the difference between the two in the frequency of fights.
