Default Griffin's Tiltle Reign

What type of title reign do you think forrest is going to have. I don't know about anyone else i just feel forrest is going to have a vitor belfort or matt serra reign as champion. I just can't see him holding onto the belt. Thoughts?

He has beat the #1 Ranked Figher at LHW twice in a row, both of which (Rampage & Shogun) were near the top of the P4P Ranking as well.

IMO Forrest can beat anyone in the LHW division and he is still only going to get better.

But, there is no real way to predict, all I can say is that I really hope that Forrest defends atleast one time so that he can keep the belt and hang it on a wall.

You have to defend one time in order to keep the actual belt that you won.

With Couture helping him with his gameplanning and Forrest's apparent ability to stick to it, he can beat many of the contenders. Who knows. That's what's great about MMA.

If he comes up with good gameplans for most opponents I could see him keeping it for a few fights, but it seems like his nerves almost get the best of him sometimes. Maybe there wont be as much pressure on his next fight as there was in this one. We'll see.

He's gonna have a chance against anyone because he's like trying to knock out a hog (trust me, it's hard). However, I think a 100% Shogun and a Rampage w/o a bum knee beats him 9 out of 10 times.

Short, maybe 1 defense(Machida)

Too many good fighters....I can see almost anyone in the top 5 pulling a win off against another. If he fights Machida next he can gameplan for that and probably win. If its a Rampage rematch Forrest probably gets KO'd. The same can be said if Chuck gets a shot at him.

You can't count Forrest out completely. He's the kind of fighter who's going to give it his all every fight out and can beat the odds.

That said I think a rematch with Rampage or a defense against Machida will be very tough challenges. I wouldn't be surprised if he dropped either one due a TKO.

Either way, Forrest makes for entertaining matches. I can't wait to see him fight again.

It's hard to say with Forrest. IMO he always seems to be just this close (pinches thumb and forefinger together) to getting his ass whooped, but somwhow manages to pull it off. I'd like to think that he could defend at least twice before someone figures him out, but you never really know.

Look at GSP...he got stopped in his first title defense only to come back better than ever.

Sadly I think there will be even more pressure on Griffin now because he can't play the affable underdog anymore. I can see Forrest grinding out a few wins as champ as long as he doesn't get too antsy to score finishes.
