I think Forrest just saw it as an opportunity to take him down while hurt, and either finish him or secure the round.
Agreed, the 2nd kind of drops out the window. Griffin didn't intend to go to the ground there, but when it did he dominated it. It wasn't planned, but you could easily see from round one that he had planned to just wrap up and keep from taking too much damage while on the ground.

Its never said, but Forrest is a BJJ fighter, with a BJJ fighters mentality. Its the best part of his game. And he uses it like a smart BJJ fighter should. like "I don't really want to end up on the ground, but if it goes there I can take it" sort of mentaility.

rematch needs to happen.
No Rampage didn't, it's the fans that can't take it when Griffin beats one of the best at LHW.
aka Shogun and Rampage.
"Shogun was injured and/or took Griffin lightly"
Forrest was injured too /shock

"Rampage took him lightly"
Or maybe Forrest's game plan worked to a T ?

Yup, and it makes me sick.

If...and that's a big "IF"...Rampage took Forrest lightly, he has no one to blame but himself. That's all a part of the fight game folks. You train, and then you fight.

Rampage should've watched what happened to Shogun and trained his ass off...if he didn't, oh well.

Personally, I thought Rampage looked fine, but like Dork stated(either in this thread, or another one) he simply got wrecked by those leg kicks.

Hell, IMO, when the UFC does those "positive attributes" graphs before each fight, Forrest's should read like this:

*Great Heart
*Excellent Cardio
*Always underestimated

Works in my book

I thought Rampage's cardio was OK. I don't know how much intensity the leg kicks took out of him though because he just didn't seem to be as ferocious as he had in his other recent fights. I like Rampage, always have and always will but what I saw in his fight with Forrest was him kind of get exposed. In MMA in this day and age fighters need to be able to excel a little bit in all areas of martial arts and it seems Rampage really isn't very well versed in anything but brute strength, power in both hands and his ground-n-pound but he doesn't use submissions,he doesn't fight off of his back very well, his guard is fairly weak and he seldom uses any kicks in any of his fights. MMA fighters that want to stay on top these days need to at least be mediocre in all aspects of martial arts and Rampage hasn't expanded his game very much in areas other than boxing and wrestling.
