Rampage not only looked different, but his mentality looked different. I have never seen him so passive in his fights. He looked out of it. I think Rampage just took Forrest lightly.

Sure there is a difference, 15 to 20 pounds, Rampage did cut weight in the 2nd pic, lol.
But yeah, I did notice he look less diesel out there than he looked in fights before.

I agree that he his intensity level looked very different as compared to what we have seen form him in the past. He'll be back, he's only 30.

His arm's are held differently in the 2nd, as well as he was full of adrenaline and blood in the first pic.

I didnt think Rampage was as ripped as he usually is. That being said he was in condition. He went 5 rounds and had a jacked leg.

Then maybe people should learn not to take Forrest lightly?
It's getting a repetitive and weak excuse imo.

He looked softer for sure, and he was much more hesitant. Rampage is a fearsome individual, and he lacked his usual intensity. The only thing I can blame that on is conditioning and ill-preparation. He may have had to cut too much weight as well - which is highly plausible.

Rampage didnt make that excuse.
Rampage looked not to be in his best shape, but he still had incredible cardio! he went hard for the whole fight. it's not a body building contest here.
rematch needs to happen.

Styles like Forrest's and Machida's can make fighters look bad. Jackson spent most of the fight studying. He could never get a read on where Forrest would be or where he could attack. With other fighters, they have tendancies or holes in their games that get identified and picked apart. Forrest looked like a guy that trained to fight fight 5 different fights, not a 5 round fight. In the first, Forrest used leg kicks and jabs. The second he got it to the ground. In the 3rd it was all about flashing the roundhouse kicks, different leg than in the first 2 rounds. In the 4th he traded combonations. Forrest would wait for Jackson to initiate, and then he'd trade back. Same in the fifth.
The point is, it wasn't Jackson's conditioning that was off, it was the confusion of what Griffin was doing. When you're expecting a front leg kick, and you have to keep checking right roundhouses to the body, it'll throw you off your game.

I agree, but I also think Forrest was just adapting to situations. I don't think he planned to take Rampage to the ground in the second. When he hurt him with that leg kick, there was no way Rampage could sprawl and defend a shot. Forrest worked on his wrestling before the fight, basically to defend against Rampages shots. I think Forrest just saw it as an opportunity to take him down while hurt, and either finish him or secure the round.
