Who or what should the UFC 86 Combatants battle next

You guys always do an entertaining job with your matchmaking so I figured i'd toss the thread out there and at least try it myself.


Mine is

Rampage- Wanderlei, winner gets title match. The bout sells itself regardless

Forrest- Lyoto Machida is who "should" get the nod and hopefully setup a Chuck vs forrest title bout in december IF big IF Forrest wins over the Dragon

Cote- Winner of Franklin Hammil

Almeda- Nate Marquardt


Joe Daddy- Sean Sherk


Tibau- Joe Lauzon


Koschek- I'm an evil bastard so i'd have Kos fight Fitch if he loses to GSP in route to a title bout.


Tyson Griffin- Rich Clementi. Rich deserves a high profile fight dammit!


Gonzaga- Eddie Sanchez or some other tune up type of fighter.


Mcully- a tuneup for Cheick Kongo later this year provided Kongo wins at 87


Gurgel- I'd say a pink slip but since he's Rich's boy the WEC


Cole Miller- Frankie Edgar


Gullard- Nate Diaz. Imagine the fireworks.


Siver- I don't know that i'd offer him another fight at this time.


Corey Hill- He needs a tuneup fight but I don't think I can come up with a safe alternate so i'd maybe do Kurt Pelligrino even though I think the marketable Corey would get subbed. .. again.


Buccholz- Thiago Tavarres

I added the what because I would personally have pitted some of the guys against Pink Slips or demotions to WEC so to speak.

Franklin vs Hammill is at 205 so the winner of that fight doesn't make sense. I'd match him up against Leites or Kampmann

Eddie Sanchez is too easy of a match for Gonzaga. I'd like to see him (Gonzo) face Kongo.

Pellegrino is not a tuneup for Corey Hill its a stepup fight. Batman man gave both Nate Diaz and Joe Stevenson a run for there money.

Edgar would only be a good matchup for Miller if he loses. Nobody should go from beating Franca to fighting Miller.

Kos should fight Karo. He won't fight Fitch or Swick and the only other deserving fighters are Alves, Diego and Hughes and they're tied up.

I fail to see the logic in having Rampage face Wandi again after Wandi beat him down twice already. Should Chuck get another shot at Rampage? Should Hughes get another shot at GSP?

If you really stop and think about it, all of the ppv viewers are mostly casual fans, and most casual fans just know Wandy and Rampage as bad asses.... it would be a good move and I'd watch...........
as for forrest, i hate to say i told you so, but i did say it... Pit him up aginst Machida then the winner faces winner of Chuck and Rashuad

So Rampage fights Wandy again for what? They fought twice already. The Only way they should fight again is for a title. If Rampage wins that, and Wandy works his way back then what? Fight number 4?

Cote wins, and for some reason now he moves up to LHW to fight Franklin or Hammill?


I liked some of your others though. I liked the Melvin vs Nate Diaz, fireworks for sure. I think Diaz subs him in under 2 mins though.
