I'd like to see Rampage fight either Wandy or Shogun next. But I would be fine with a rematch as well.

I have always thought if you lose even a close fight, especially with such a stacked division, that you should still have to fight once or twice to get a rematch. I personally think we should see Rampage/Wandy 3 for a shot after Lyoto. Hows bout you?

Why should there be a Rampage Wandi III when Wandi beat the living shit out of Rampage twice already? Should Chuck get another shot at Rampage as well? Should Hughes get another shot at GSP?
As to the poll, I catagorically disagree with anyone who feels there should be an immediate rematch...to the point where I'll state that if you: a) feel there should be a rematch, and b) didn't feel there should be an immediate rematch for Hendo/Jackson, I question your intelligence and/or understanding of MMA. Henderson/Jackson was a much closer fight, and didn't have a 10-8 round.
I really like Rampage, and I enjoy watching him fight, but he lost last night. He admitted it, and his fans can as well.

I don't agree with giving immediate rematches. I think that Rampage should fight atleast one more fight before getting one. He should face Shogun imo (not Wand) and have Forrest fight Machida.
I agree that I think Hendo/Rampage was a closer fight. However, the case with Forrest/Rampage is a little different than Hendo/Rampage. Although Hendo/Rampage fight was a title unification fight... a lot of fans pretty much saw it as Rampage defending his UFC LHW title against Hendo. Rampage wasn't even announced as the unified champ... just "still UFC LHW champ".
So, for the Rampage/Hendo fight, the CHALLENGER (Hendo) lost a close decision. In the Forrest/Rampage fight... it was the CHAMPION lost a close decision. I think that alone warrants Rampage to get an immediate rematch more than Hendo. Plus, another factor is that the Rampage/Forrest II fight will generate much more revenue than the Rampage/Hendo II fight.

I dont understand peoples thinking on here and Sherdog that Rampage needs to fight Wanderlei now that he has lost. Wanderlei is my favorite MMA'er of all time, but I feel like there were too many unanswered questions in the fight, and though I understand that some think that it wasnt close whatever whatever, Rampage and Forrest need a rematch immediately.

No is your answer. Hendo lost to rampage in an even closer fight and didn't get a rematch so why does rampage deserve one when this fight wasn't even as close.
Also Lyoto should get the next title shot because he has earned it. Hes undeafeted and he beat 3 tough opponents in his last 3 fights. Though chuck and wandy are both coming off wins they still don't have as good a case as lyoto does. And if you don't like lyoto and think hes boring thats too bad because that has nothing to do with him earning a shot at the title.

I agree, I've been saying the same thing. People are so obsessed with trilogies that they think that Rampage vs. Wandy is necessary. That fight shouldn't happen unless its for the title. I dont understand, out of all of the possible matches at LHW, why is Rampage vs Wandy absolutely necessary?
The reason that Hendo shouldn't have had an immediate title shot against Rampage is because Hendo was the challenger. To take the belt away from the champ, you have to do enough to take it from him. Yes Hendo was the pride champ, but theyre not looking at that once he's in the UFC.
The reason it would make more sense for Rampage to get a rematch against Forrest is because Rampage was the undisputed LHW champ of the world, and Forrest won a close decision.

Rivethead has RNC the correct.
If Forrest/Rampage warrants an immediate rematch than so did Hendo/Rampage, b/c IMO that fight was much closer to a draw than the Forrest fight.
Immediate rematches aren't a good idea IMO. If Rampage loses the 2nd time he will basically be out of title contention for as long as Forrest has the belt.
The smart thing (and probably what the UFC will do) would be to have each of them have a fight first. Have Forrest defend and have Rampage fight a comeback fight.

I think of it this way will it draw big PPV numbers? YES/NO
If the answer is yes then thats what you do, the UFC is about making money first and foremost.
Maybe Zuffa thinks a Iceman/Forrest fight will be bigger and I would agree..

I can't believe that some are clamouring for an immediate rematch. The fight was fairly close, but Forrest clearly won, taking the 1st, 2nd, and 5th rounds. Rampage landed one knockdown punch in the first, but forrest still took it imo since he landed several good headshots of his own, as well as numerous leg kicks.
i had it 48-46 for forrest.
congratulations to Forrest Griffin, the new UFC Lightheavyweight Champion of the World.
