I said yes but I am kinda in the middle....

I think you give Rampage the shot now rather then throw someone else at Forrest. It was a close fight and Rampage deserves another shot. Flip side there are so many other awesome fights I want to see that a rematch would screw up....

I don't think Forrest's reign at the top will be a long one by any stretch of the imagination.

I think with yesterdays win this is gonna set up for a nice Griffin vs Shogun II later next year.......

A healthy Shogun should plow throw a Soku in Nov. Than a Wanderlie, Quinton Jackson or Chuck liddell could be winnable next Spring than in late summer 2009(UFC 100) against Forrest, thats if Forrest still has it. I want to see Shogun as the champion.

While all this is going on we could possibly see Griffin Vs Jackson in December than maybe Griffin/Jackson vs. Lyoto in the Spring.

I don't know....

no to the immediate rematch. Machida is next in line. Assuming Rampage's knee is ok and he beats the winner of Silva/Silva. Then he gets a shot. Chuck needs at least one more win after knocking out Evans.

Dave Meltzer managed to get his hands on the official judges’ scorecards from last night’s main event, and whether you agree with the decision or not you’re probably still going to be surprised by how the judges saw things.

Judge Adelaide Byrd scored the bout 48-46, giving Griffin rounds 1,2, and 3 while giving Jackson rounds 4 and 5. Byrd also scored round 2 as a 10-8 round for Griffin.

Judge Nelson Hamilton scored it 48-46 with Jackson winning rounds 1 and 4, Griffin winning 2,3, and 5. Hamilton also scored the second round 10-8 for Griffin.

Judge Roy Siebert scored it 49-46, only giving round 4 to Jackson.

To recap, two of the three judges, whose job it is to score professional MMA fights, gave the first round to Forrest Griffin despite the fact that he got dropped by a good uppercut from “Rampage” and looked to be in real trouble near the end. About the only thing these judges seem to agree on is that Griffin won rounds 2 and 3 and Jackson won round 4, even though he did less in that round than he did in the first.

That’s not to say the decision was necessarily unjustified, but it does help me remember why my Algebra teacher was so adamant about making me show my work. Just because you arrive at the right conclusion doesn’t mean that you’ve got it all figured out.

I think the guy over at Cage Potato is brilliant. I only disagree with his opinion of round 1. Rampage dropped him, but Forrest recovered quickly and Jackson did nothing on the ground. But the ending paragraph is freaking amazing.

This is how is gonna go down. Chuck beats rashad and gets a title shot. Rampage faces wandy at the new years eve show. Machida is so boring ufc doesnt want him to be champ they will throw him against shogun and hope he loses. Then we have Anderson not too sure where he might fit in as of now I think they may let him rest at 205 til things clear up and he can get a match up with someone who if he beats it will be justifiable to give him a title shot. For some crazy reason I have a feeling were gonna see Anderson vs Chuck for the lhw title. As for rampage getting an immediate shot no way the only person that that would make sense for would be Anderson if he lost. Rampage only defended his title twice and was expected to win so how does a bad performance justify a title shot? maybe not bad but a let down for sure he was expected to win. Theres to much depth in this division to give him a shot right away anyhow

forrest will defend against machida in october chuck will get the winner on the NYE show rampage will probably have to fight shogun, wandy, or soko probably two of them before he gets another shot at the title. i think the ufc is gonna keep rampage as far away from chuck as they can so chuck can regain the belt and retire with it or then move up to HW. unless of course the UFC adopts these new weight classes in wich case he will probably retire cause i cant see him being successful at over 225 pounds

people get so blinded by their desire to see certain rematches that they dont stick to logic...i voted YES for the immediate rematch. it was too damn close, and just IMO a fight like that should be a draw or go to the champion. in a fight not for the title, Forrest wins with no controversy.

you all want to see Rampage/Wandy 3 so badly that ur not taking anything else into account here. and Machida getting the shot...ill tell you what, Forrest/Machida would be one of the most boring fights in MMA history and im guessing would look a lot like Sylvia/AA III.

i want to see Rampage fight Wand, yah. but not before Rampage rematches Forrest. nuff said.

I think more people are clamoring for an immediate rematch because they are still in shock that Griffin won (like me). However I voted no because if Liddell blows through Evans, that should set the stage for Griffin vs Liddell. That fight should happen on the December card, and it would be an incredible draw. Just think of how easy that is to sell. The original Ultimate Fighter Forrest Griffin steps in to the octagon against the man who coached him to victory, the Iceman Chuck Liddell. Has the student surpassed the teacher?

Meanwhile, I read that someone suggested Rampage Wand 3 but that doesn't make sense because Wand brutally stopped Rampage twice already. That fight shouldnt happen unless it is for a title.

Rampage should fight Shogun on the same card. Now how is that for a double main event?

i voted no. its bullshit they give him a immediate rematch. give rampage 2 fights and than give him a title shot if he wins them both.
oh and i much rather see rampage vs wand after wand gets the title.
