UFC 89 To Be Televised On Spike TVAs we reported yesterday, UFC 89 is set to take place in Birmingham, England on October 18 and will feature a main event match up of Chris Leben vs. Michael Bisping. Today, Dave Meltzer is reporting that the event will be televised for free on Spike TV with a major UFC event planned for a week after that on Saturday, October 25.
Also announced today, MMAWeekly.com is reporting that a stellar welterweight contest between Thiago Alves and Diego Sanchez is in the works and will likely take place at UFC 89.

I had a feeling since thats not a good main event.
Dont get me wrong it will be a great fight but not to spend 45.

This would be most excellent. I hope history doesn't repeat itself and this ends up being a PPV. Free is the shit. Unless there's an Afflicition PPV at the same time.

good, cuz with a main event that lackluster (even though it's a fight i want to see), it should be free. why Anderson/Okami isn't slated for it i dont understand. maybe if Anderson gets out of the Irvin fight unscathed they'll go for it LOL

If Diego - Alves is on that card, than THAT should be the main event; this should end up being a number one contender fight and both guys are well known with a pretty large fan base. Bisping - Leben should be good also, but I don't think it's the better fight. Either way, if I get to see both of these fights and not pay for it, it's a good day for me. It'll be even better if Diego and Bisping can take home wins.

Every UFC UK card is weaker than the USA cards and they all are rumored to be free. They end up not being free. I won't believe it until the UFC announces it as being free. Right now, the UFC OFFICIAL WEBSITE has it listed as a PPV.
