I'm just not up for GSP vs. Fitch. I'll watch of course but I'm just not feeling it. GSP is a human sponge and absorbs everthing he's taught. It'll be a good solid fight but I'm not really excited by it.

I am staring to think the term "black belt" doesn't mean anything anymore.
There are degrees of a true black belt, and Fitch is not the same as Jacare's black belt.

Fitch had a hell of a hard time with Wilson and IMO should still be one Top-5 fight away from a title shot. I am not denying his record or his potential, but I don't see him pulling this off and yes it would be a HUGE upset.

I wish he would nut-up and fight KOS sometime. That would be a more evenly matched fight.

GSP by KO late round 2 after he stuffs a Fitch takedown attempt

Fitch just got his, how long has Jacare been one? That's what I thought.

Even though they're evenly matched GSP is just a little better at everything, except striking where he is MUCH better than Fitch. Strategy for GSP should be to dominate the stand up and go for a takedown every now and then, kinda like he did with Serra but I think he's gonna stand up more with Fitch.

I really don't see Fitch's wrestling being a problem for GSP, not than I don't think Fitch is a good wrestler but GSP can outwrestle anyone in that division IMO.

Yeah that did cross my mind. Didn't Babalu just get his last month or something?

[quote=Dr. Leg Kick;492231]i dont see how Fitch def. GSP is an upset? Both are top notch fighters, and the only way for this to be a big upset is if the fight ends in round 1. I dont want to see it ending so soon.

i want this to be a 5 round war.

WAR FITCH!!!
The one thing that fitch for sure doesn't have better than GSP is striking. I have recently re-watched the last few fights of Fitch and GSP and it's very obvious that GSP has a clear advantage there.

Fitch's top game though is pretty underrated. The problem is that he isn't as consistent.. sometimes he displays a great balance between GNP/BJJ and the other times he's content with laying in the guard.

As for subs, they each have very few in the last number of fights. I don't think its very easy to compare that. You can make the argument for both sides easily. However, we haven't seen much of GSP's sub d, because no one has really controlled him on the ground. We have seen Fitch's sub d though and even though he gets caught in a number of submissions... he is very very resilient and its very hard to make him tap.

In the wrestling department, both their takedowns D's are impressive with GSP having a better explosive tdd. In the takedowns, GSP is more successful but Fitch's takedowns are much more fluid, which can be attributed to the wrestling experience he has. GSP is so successful in his TDs because of the way he mixes up his striking and wrestling really well.
