UFC should do a PRIDE show

soko's comment in another thread had me thinking.....

doing a farewell to pride show would be a great fucking idea. soko is smart.

the ufc should do it in a ring at the saitama super arena with the original pride rules but use rogan and goldberg, their refs, and michael buffer. don't lose the ufc aspect but just have it have the pride feel and atmosphere.

put the ufc fighters in a ring with soccer kicks and no elbows. guys like diego, GSP, chuck again, soko, shogun, wand, page, griffin, penn, huerta......

i think it would be a cool ass show.....

These were the dreams I imagined when UFC first bought Pride, But then I soon realized thats all they would be.

lol do you mean Bruce Buffer? Oh yea, and they need to have Rampage vs. Wandy...or wait did Soko already say that? ok well then how about Nog vs. Herring. Just gotta make sure the Yakuza don't fix the fights. LOL

Any time I get nostalgic about Pride and wish they were still in business I just remind myself that the next Dream card is not to far away.

I loved PRIDE so much but it's over now. The UFC is in the business of branding the UFC and they are 100% right to do so. It's up to some Asian organization to pick up the PRIDE ball and do something with that legacy because the UFC isn't going to do anything with it other than release some PRIDE DVD's.

I'm not sure the UFC should do a PRIDE show, but a PRIDE-style show would be cool. Of course it'd be called something corny like UFC: Rising Sun, but we could get over that after a few soccer kicks and stomps from Wand.

i wouldn't mind seeing a pride type grand prix event perhaps to determine the number 1 contender in the LHW division. chuck, wandy, shogun and Machida in a tournament would be class.
