the ufc should do it in a ring at the saitama super arena with the original pride rules but use rogan and goldberg, their refs, and michael buffer. don't lose the ufc aspect but just have it have the pride feel and atmosphere.
put the ufc fighters in a ring with soccer kicks and no elbows. guys like diego, GSP, chuck again, soko, shogun, wand, page, griffin, penn, huerta......
i think it would be a cool ass show.....

Then have very few big names for all the shows for the next 3-6 months? While it would be cool to see I think this thread needs to be moved to Dream Matches or be dated My 2007 Wish
I do agree with you it would be amazing to see a card like this in Japan or wherever.

A LHW GP would be insane. Throw Forrest, Chuck, Lyoto, Wanderlei, Shogun, Jardine, Soko and Thiago Silva in a tournament with the winner facing Rampage for the belt. Holy crap.
It'd be nice, but it's nothing more than a dream. I just watched the PRIDE: Fighting Decade DVD last night and it still kinda pisses me off that Lorenzo and Dana said one thing at the press conference and then stripped the company down and sold it for scrap.

I have a friend who fights frequently in Madison, Wisconsin and their rules allow kicks and knees to the head of a downed opponent. It's basically PRIDE rules plus elbows. And it's a pretty big event, so it's not like backyard fighting or anything. I always thought that was kind of weird.

I think that for all events in US they have to use unified rules ( or at least UFC organizes all their fights under unified rules ) - I'm not sure what the situation would be if they had an event in Japan.
Having said that there is no chance ( unfortunately ) that Dana would allow fight in a ring. But here is an idea - organize UFC event called where all participants would be fighters they took over from PRIDE ( unified MMA rules in the octagon in Las Vegas )

Hawaii. ICON allows stomps and knees to the head. Now that they've been purchased, I don't know how much longer we'll see that happening, though.
I think any ideas about having a PRIDE-style show would go down in Tokyo, Japan, not the US. The UFC could have a show there under the Zuffa umbrella with a bunch of former PRIDE fighters.

Wanderlei vs Rampage III for LHT
Big Nog vs Werdum II for HWT
Anderson Silva vs Henderson II for MWT
Shogun vs Soko for #1 contender
Cro Cop vs Mir
Mark Coleman vs Heath Herring
Fedor vs Couture for the superfight? hahaha

Would be awesome to see but it won't happen. At least there's DREAM, pumped for the next event.

A Pride show would be sweet and a Grand Prix would make it even better. To bad it would never happen.
It would be totally pointless to have without the crazy lady Screaming the fighters names. Especialy Crop Cop or Wands name. I can 't believe no one mentioned her so far.
