All valid points. I still don't think Soko is on Shogun's level and I also don't think he should call him out until after he comes back from injury. I would be interested to see the fight. Let's see Soko fight a mid-tier guy and see how he does before he gets an upper echelon guy.

For the record, I don't think the Shogun we saw against Forrest was the real Shogun. Whether it was injury or octagon jitters or whatever, that wasn't the same dominant guy we saw in Pride for all those years.

Soko's going to be a beast, I just don't think he's fully arrived yet. He blew up quickly beating Arona and Lil Nog. I get that. I just don't think he's ready for the elite LHW's that the UFC has to offer.

Matchups make fights. What one person does against someone doesn't mean someone else will have the same experience. Jardine beat Liddell, Wanderlei destroyed Jardine but lost to Liddell. Different matchups make different outcomes.

I would just like to see Soko work his way up to fighting Shogun. Shogun's been at it long enough that Soko should have to work his way up the ladder to get to fight him. He's still relatively new to the fight game, less than 10 MMA fights, all fighters have to climb the ladder. Not taking his KOs over Arona and Nog away but you climb the ladder. Being thrown right in there isn't how it usually works. But hey, it's just my opinion. I do like Soko, I just would prefer he fight a couple of mid-tier guys before he gets to fight Shogun.

Lol I'm still failing to see why you keep saying that Soko should have to work his way up to fight Shogun. Soko KO'd 2 elite LHW fighters... Lil Nogs and Arona! He lost his first fight to Machida in his UFC debut. Lyoto is no scrub and also beat the more experienced Tito Ortiz. Soko redeemed himself and finished Nakamura which was something Shogun failed to do like Dork said. All Shogun has done since coming to the UFC is tap out to Forrest Griffin. Soko and Shogun are in good positions to fight each other right now. I love Shogun from his PRIDE days just like many of you but you cant be blind/biased because of it.

I have no doubt that Soko and Shogun would have a great fight. I think Soko has tremendous potential which he did show against lil nog and Arona. However, the problem that I have with Soko is how he has showed disrespect to two fighters... Shogun (primarily) and fedor.

He pretty much was saying Fedor is good but not that great and he had to cheat to win (referring to the Lindland fight). I don't care if you are on a fighter's team or not... but basically to disrespect the best in the world was classless.

In this interview, he said he respects shogun and what not but did he (or any of you guys) forget what he said in his last few interviews? He said Shogun was ducking him in pride. That was a ridiculous comment! then how he said Shogun was overrated, that was a fucking bullshit comment. Then he mentioned that henderson doesnt even have to train to beat shogun?

Let's not forget all those disrespectful comments. Sure he's a great fighter who could easily escalate himself to top 5, challenge for the title and one day may be champion but at this point to disrespect elite fighters (who have always shown pure class) is something that will always get to me. He can make it sound like he has always respect shogun but the truth is he has talked shit about shogun in more than one occassion... i'm surprised some of you guys forgot those.
