I remember you saying back in the UFC 85 prediction thread that Werdum wouldnt be able to get him down,or stand with him at all. It seems as if your Vera-beast predictions are often quite off.

Hendo would take him down and do the same thing Werdum did. Wandy would bum rush him,close the distance,and KO him,and Lyoto would make him look like a total fool. Hell I think Reese Andy is gonna be able to beat him with his superior wrestling. Vera hasnt done jack shit in quite a while.

Wouldn't make it out of the first with Lyoto? are you kidding me? He hasn't stopped anyone in the first round since 2004 and that guy is most likely a can. He hasn't even stopped anyone since 2004 except Sokoudjou. Lyoto might possibly make Vera look stupid and chase him but to say Machida would stop Vera in the first is crazy. Hendo or Wandy has a shot in knocking him out in the first but Machida isn't going to be stopping anyone decent in the first round.

Then don't make bold statements that Lyoto will stop Vera when there is no evidence to backup your statement. Vera will tko Machida when they fight.

Take the wheels off the Vera bandwagon. I never cared for Vera before and could care less if he KO's an IFL outcast. Set him up with a mid-level 205er and I'll reserve judgement until then. I think most people lost sight of the fact that Vera's highlight reel KO victories weren't against top tier fighters. When he starts walking through them, I'll believe the hype, until then, I just don't see the TRUTH.

Amazing how a couple of months changes everything.

Vera shouldn't be dropping HOF names though to get some criticism off of himself, that's bush league shit. Wand or Hendo have no reason to accept a short notice fight, and they've earned the right to have proper training camps for whatever opponent they face next.

I disagree, obviously. The rule says "you must intelligently defend yourself at all times." The rule doesn't say "you must intelligently defend yourself at all times, except when you are not taking maximum damage." or "you must intelligently defend yourself at all times, except when you are taking only minimal damage."

If the round would have continued, Vera would have been mounted, not improving his position, and not fighting back for A FULL MINUTE!

So he didn't have a right to complaint, IMO.

The only reason I might have wanted the fight to continue a little longer was so that Werdum could have knocked Vera's face in. Let's call a spade a spade, Vera wasn't getting out of the round, there was about 30 seconds left...Vera should have been thanking the ref. for stopping it, b/c now he is not as injured as he surely would have been and is in better shape to take a quick fight, and didn't get a medical suspension.

LMAO, you are joking right? He stepped up in competition in the HW division lost. IMO the LHW division is stronger and more well rounded with Liddell, Silva, Rampage, Machida, etc. I mean even the middle of the pack LHW's have big wins ie: Griffin, Jardine, etc. I guess middle of the pack is not a good term but I would not quite call them upper tier guys. I know Griffin is fighting for the belt but I still put the aformentioned guys ahead of Forrest and jardine. Vera would be grouped with these guys, I just don't see how a drop to LHW helps his career. He could have fought a can at HW to get back on track and then maybe Gonzaga or Mir again or even Herring, Kongo, or Lesnar. A big KO or huge submission against one or two of these guys puts him right in title contention. I think his LHW stay will be short lived and he will be back at HW by mid 09.
