I think that some months back I read that most, or all, big-name fighters will no longer pose for photos where they are applying the RNC, due to the risk of stupid crap like this.

This exact event may have been as much of a factor as any on that unwritten "rule" developing, which is a good idea, clearly.

Here's a little history lesson Matt Hughes maybe should have studied.

You wanna know what the biggest lawsuit in all of pro wrestling history was for?

It was filed for $5,000,000.00 when Hulk Hogan willingly put Richard Belzer, a current star on LAW and Order:SUV that was hosting a cable TV show called "Hot Properties" that Hogan and Mr. T appeared on at the time (and that Belzer was talking a lot of smack about pro wrestling being fake on) at Belzer's request in a front face lock...and then Belzer immediately passed out, fell down and busted his head wide open, and then immediately had to be rushed to the hospital.

The lawsuit was later settled out of court for $1,500,000.00 which Belzer used to buy a house in France.

Did anybody watch the video of Baroni applying a RNC to a reporter in the original article. The guy had to tap 17 times before Baroni let go. The reporter had to have eye surgery to repair the damage that occurred because he wouldn't let it go.

How much of an idiot is Baroni? You don't make someone tap 17 times to let go of a choke. Man...the moron that scammed Hughes is bad enough, but Baroni deserves whatever he gets when this comes to a head.

Believe it or not, your eyes are VERY sensitive to blood loss and blood pressure. Have you ever had the "air puff" test at the eye doctor? That is checking your blood pressure inside you eyes.

Plus, reputable doctors don't do unnecessary surgeries, so I have to think there was some real damage.

I've been chocked out more times then I care to remember allot worse then that and my vision is fine... I've never heard of anyone getting their vision fucked up in MMA or BJJ from a choke. His eyes could have certainly been fucked up before the incident and made a big deal about it just for the Civil Suit. I think that is certainly more realistic then getting his vision fucked up from a choke.
