id rather see okami fight silva. okami is really bad matchup for silva.

okami is a lot faster then hendo with a better ground game and better gnp imo. hendo just doesnt seem as good at 185 as 205. hendo doesnt care about slugging it out with people, where as okami will realize he has to take silva down in order to win. this is why i see okami is silvas biggest test to date.

So Okami looks like the only guy left, and there is no good fights lefts other than Okami and Silva, but that doesn't mean you have to have that fight.
This fight doesn't sell one PPV and there's always a chance of a upset and thats would be the worst thing to happen to the UFC Okami the MW champion.

The prospects of Okami becoming champion is frighting, a non-English speaking fighting that doesn't have a great ground game and isn't a top striker.

I have no interest in Silva/Irvin. I've got interest in seeing Silva at 205, but not in some pos card cobbled together to keep people from watching Affliction.

For me, the main thing about Silva is that he makes great fighters look average. Casual fans talk about how shallow MW is because he's pwned great fighters...without understanding that they're still great fighters even after they've lost.

I would love to see him fight a healthy Shogun, at any weight. I'd even buy a PPV if it had nothing more than that and Gary Shaw interviews. It won't happen, but it would be a great fight.

No one wants to see Silva vs Okami because Okami doesn't do shit ! Skillful or not no one wants to see a lackluster fighter. I wouldn't mind watchin it jus for Okami's asskicking. I don't see anything wrong with him facing Irvin. Can't expect him to fight every major fighter there is. It's not like Irvin is garbage anyways. I would hate to see him fight and lose to a big namer for a new weight class he's tryin in the UFC. Gotta start from the bottom you kno? If he beats Irwin there is no tellin who the UFC will put him up against next. Seems like some of you are gettin spoiled and want constant mega fights. Jus sit back and enjoy this FREE stand up battle.

The fight won't see one ppv??? Okami v. Franklin sold 300 k and that was in Northern Ireland, on a shitty card at a horrible time slot. I am sure with a good card backing it and the fact its Anderson Silva, it will sell pretty good. Record breaking... no. Good, yes.

Wow, a non-english speaking champion what will the UFC do, I mean non-english speaking champions have never done well in the UFC.... oh wait Anderson Silva.

Okami doesnt have a great ground game?! What fights are you watching? Did you see the guy he just destoryed Franklin on the ground. Or how he dominated MacDonald on the ground, or the fact in every single fight he brings the fight to the ground? Man, great takedowns, great GnP, great sub defense... yea I guess its an ok ground game.

Okami is actually also a pretty striker. Not very heavy handed, but he is pretty precise and can hold his own in the stand-up game with just about any MW.

Trust me, Okami being the UFC MW champion is not the end of the world.

This coming from someone with an Okami sig the only Okami fanboy on any MMA forums.

Okami is a good ground and pounder, really no BJJ and didn't destroyed Franklin on the ground almost submitted him, but he didn't and lost the fight.

A non-speakng English fighter with no personality or charisma would be
awful, at least Anderson Silva is a wicked striker, Okami does nothing that would make you wanna buy a PPV.

lol, I can't be the only one, someone else gave me this sig.

He is a little more then a good ground and pounder, if you watch the fights there are a few that could/should have been stopped but weren't. Swick and MacDonald were both fights that probably should have been stopped, but the ref let the fight go on.

The fight with Franklin proved that the 10 point must scoring system doesn't work all the time in the UFC. For the first two rounds, Franklin barely outstruck Okami, but did enough to win the rounds. Were as in the 3rd, Okami dominated Franklin standing-up and on the ground. He nearly subbed Franklin twice and had him mounted I am pretty sure that quailifes as dominating. This is one of the fights that prove they need to re look at the 10 point must scoring system. Franklin might have won, but he didn't really out fight Okami.

I'm a huge Okami fan. The night he beat Swicks ass I said he'd be the one to beat Silva,or come closest. Saying Masscore is the only Omaki fan on "any mma forums" is totally ridiculous.

And WHO GIVES A FUCK if the guy speaks english or has a personality? When the hell does that dictate what fights should be made? If rankings and title fights were based off personality,Krazy Horse Bennet would be the undefeated universe MMA champion.

I love to watch Okami fight. One of the best GNP guys out there, solid chin, great cardio, and his striking is getting better(see knee to Tanners head)

I'd order a PPV headlined by Okami vs Silva in a heartbeat.
