TUF 7 Live Finale Rating
MMAPayout.com: The Business of MMA: UPDATED: TUF 7 Live Finale Rating
Quote:
MMAPayout.com has learned that The Ultimate Fighter 7 Live Season Finale drew a 1.4 rating (2 million viewers). The broadcast drew a 2.3 in M18-34 and a 1.9 in M18-49. The demographic numbers topped everything on television, network or cable, in the time slot.
TUF Live Finale Ratings History:
Season Rating
1 - 1.9 - Franklin-Shamrock
2 - 2.0 - Sanchez-Diaz
3 - 2.0 - Florian-Stout
4 - 1.1 - Serra-Lytle & Lutter-Cote
5 - 2.0 - Penn-Pulver
6 - 1.8 - Huerta-Guida
7 - 1.4 - Grove-Tanner
Average - 1.7
UPDATE: There is some controversy over the household rating as the actual quarter hour ratings average out to a 1.28 (which would commonly be rounded a 1.3) as opposed to the 1.4 rating that Spike released and was also listed by Nielson. A representative of Spike confirmed to MMAPayout.com that the 1.4 number is accurate. The difference is accounted for by "time shifting" (related to DVR) which results in the household number getting bumped up.

That seems kind of low. Is it?

not too great of a card and still pulls in decent ratings.

Given the lackluster season of TUF and the fact that the card wasnt all that, I'd say that 1.4 isnt that bad really.

That is pretty cool, the UFC must be happy about that. Not many casual fans know Evan Tanner's history, and Kendall Grove really hasn't earned himself a huge fan base either. War AMIR!

Yeah, you notice all the TUF Finales that did really good ratings had bona fide stars in the main events, or at the very least, main events that were guaranteed to be all-action fights. Compared to before, this was a fairly weak main event compared to scraps like Sanchez/Diaz, Huerta/Guida, and especially Penn/Pulver.
