Whats up with this thread title. He said he was retiring IF he cant clear up his health issues.

Although bye the way Tanner said it, he might have some hypertensive related issues or some liver damage. Both of those make your body act fucked and can only be detected from advanced blood work. Hypertension can make you piss every 3 minutes for days. Shit, liver damage can make blood not as rich in oxygen as normal people. His recovery time in training would be shit with permanent liver damage... If Evan could manage to not drink any alcohol or acidic foods or juices for 14-18 months and basically eat oatmeal with bananas he could heal a bit with the right medication.

but what they hell do i know except for he drank shit loads and has some serous issues.

Pretty much sums up the way I felt. I rooted for him in that Grove fight the same way I do for Wanderlei or Arlovski. I hope he gets himself right and back to good health. If he retires, that's his choice, but more than anything, I want him to regain his health outside of the ring.

and I agree...an autobiography would be something I'd love to read. His blog entries have been very insightful into the everyday life of a fighter and it's obvious the guy can write very well (or has someone who can proof very well).

I hope he comes back and continues to fight. I'd like to see him go out on a win or two.

I hope Tanner is alright. I really do wonder what these "serious health problems" are. Considering all of the alcohol abuse this guy has done to his body, I could be pretty bad.

I dont even think Tanner knows just how much true MMA fans care about him. It really is touching to me because ever since I found out about his issues through his blogging over the past couple of years, I started to really REALLY become and fan and pull for the guy. My dad is JUST LIKE Evan Tanner. He has an alcoholic self destructive lifestyle and he is dying from it now. To see someone else get through something similar and actually pull his life completely together is the most inspiring thing Ive come accross in my life thus far.

Win or lose Eavan Tanner is the man and I hope we get to see the beard make one last appearance in the Octagon... win or lose. But I hope its under his terms and he's healthy.

Best thing I like about his blog entry is that he didn't look for any excuses for the loss or didn't disrespect Kendal in any way. It was just inside view of the warrior that just lost a battle.

He really deserves his life story to be shown to casual fans.

Hey if it never happens and I ever have the money to write or execute a screenplay Id do itin a heartbeat.....

Seriously if done right, a life story about Evan Tanner would be one of the most prolific biopic movies of all time.....

Hate to see a good fighter go out that way. especially losing to grove wtf? i think the guy still has a little gas in his tank but he has a lot of self doubt that will lead to the downfall of any fighter. i also say WAR TANNER IN LIFE
