Is there any doubt Randy wouldnt take the guy he trains in a fight? I really like Forrest and will be rooting for him like Chuck Liddell will be. The only thing is that Rampage on paper is better then Forrest at everything in MMA except for heart. We havent see Forrest in a fight that lastest more then 3 rounds. It seemed like Rampage was getting stronger in the 5th round against Henderson.
If Forrest stands there and just throws he will get KTFO by Rampage the same way he did against Jardine. Forrest has to be very technical and use alot of movement if he wants to win this fight. Forrest is a Huge 205 so maybe he can take Rampage down and ground and pound him. I think Forrest best shot of winning this fight is getting it to the ground.
I hope Forrest wins but will settle for a great fight.

Rampage knocks out Forrest in the second or third.. Forrest cries again, Rampage helps him up and sends him home.

i wonder if i knew cotoure personally, and sat down with him and talked forrest vs jackson, if he would still say he thinks forrest will win.
did training with forrest really cloud his judgement that much? or does he really think forrest will win? maybe he had to say griffin, just becuse hes basically forrests coach and has to give him confidence.
im not trying to bash forrest griffin at all, sorry if im coming off that way.

This isnt a shock. Randy picks Forrest every fight. Picked him against Jardine,Ramirez, and Shogun. He'll always pick him cause he trains the dude.

Randy sitting beside Forrest saying, "yea Forrest takes the fight." Meanwhile as Forrest turns away Randy winks at the guy doing the interview and whispers, "Rampage, TKO RD 1."
I must say though, I haven't been this nervous for a fight since Tito-Chuck I. If Forrest wins, more congrats to him, but I'm a hardcore Rampage fan and I hope he rolls right through Forrest. I'm ready for another classic Rampage victory speech.

well see soon enough though...

I agree. I think the ultimate goal is to get Chuck vs. Rampage or Chuck rematch w/ Wandy but not until one of them has the title. If Rampage loses, Chuck will not fight Rampage again unless he can get the title back. And if Chuck doesn't, they will give Wandy a shot to see if he can get it. I see them trying to get those fights but only if it is for the title.
Even though he has lost twice, they will give Chuck another shot at Rampage, if he beats Forrest, because it will sell big. It can be argued that he doesn't deserve another shot but just like Clint Eastwood said in Unforgiven, "Deserves got nothing to do with it."
That fight will probably do nearly a million PPVs if they can add some other names to the card.

maybe im way off but i see rampage as a huge favorite in the fight, and i dont think personally that forrest has much of a chance. but then again its just my opinion but im willing to sig bet on it.

holy fuckin shit
so you mean to tell me I went thru 3 pages of posts.. and the only one I agree with is Leedogs!?!?! wtf!?!?!?
I guess im the only one who feels that having faced Arona, Bustamante, Wandy, etc on the ground that I just dont see Forrest pulling off the sub.. and Forrest lacks any threatening punching power and hes facing a damn good striker in Rampage.. someone who hasnt been outboxed by pretty much anybody.. and hes beaten world class kickboxers.. in kickboxing! his only weakness in striking that hes ever shown was in the clinch.. and I dont consider Forrest to have anywhere near the caliber MT as Shogun or Wandy.. or even that of Ninja.. so I just dont see where Forrest is a threat to Rampage.. not in takedowns, knockout ability, or submissions.. I see Forrest getting hammered Jardine-style and then put to sleep from GnP.. just seems the most reasonable outcome.. especially since it seems that everyone picking Forrest really has no reason for why Forrest is gonna win lol sorry im not tryna insult but just pointing out the obvious.. everyone picking Forrest just happens to have a gut feeling.. no actual reason.

Only reason I'm picking Forrest is because he's surprised the hell out of me on more than one occasion. He's a much smarter fighter than he was even a year ago, and while he doesn't have KO power in his punches, he's capable of standing with Rampage if he can avoid the big shots.
I wouldn't call him the favorite, but I've learned to not write him off so quickly.
