Bad press is bad press for a sport seeking legitimacy. Especially somewhere like Florida. Further, in a place like Miami with DEEP ties to NYC, you can see how much trouble it's going to be to get sanctioned there (in NYC).

As a fan of the sport of MMA it's obvious you know absolutely nothing about the sport or the athletes you so harshly criticize. While I don't agree with Kimbo headlining network tv's first live MMA promotion, your comparison to Vick's dog fighting is the most uninformed, uneducated criticism of MMA I've ever heard. MMA fighters CHOOSE to fight in a controlled, state athletic commission sanctioned environment with doctors and medical staff on hand, dogs and chickens are forced to fight for their lives against their will. BIG difference.



The training mixed martial artists go through in the months leading up to a fight make the hardest day of an NFL training camp look like Sesame Street. Dan Henderson and Randy Couture are OLYMPIC grade athletes! Call me crazy but maybe you should go follow Rich Franklin or Wanderlei Silva around for a day and see just how barbaric these men are. I think you'd be surprised to find that they take their sport very seriously and probably have IQ's that dwarf yours.
