He isn't fighting Tyson because Tyson is fighting Marcus, and if Tyson wins, why would he take imo a giant step back to fight Nate.

With a win Tyson would be 1 fight away from a title fight.

Tyson imo beats Nate.

If Neer can keep it standing i believe he will beat Nate too, but he has to keep it standing.

well, we all seen what nick diaz did to josh neer, completly owned him.

but nate isnt nick. but they do share similar styles. and im sure neer has improved even more since dropping to 155.

this is going to be a huge test for nate, as neer is one of the top 5 in the ufc lw in my opinion. neer pretty much beat the hell out of stevenson also.

joe silva is a fucking dumbass. diaz is a couple of fights away from a title shot and you're giving him josh "one ufc win at lightweight" neer? what makes it worse is that neer is a tough matchup.

WOW, you guys are really giving Neer no respect.

Neer has only lost to 1 natural LW. He's tough as hell and will be a great test for Diaz.

On paper this fight does look like a step back, but in reality its pretty right on. Diaz (and I'm a big fan of all Cesar's guys) was getting his ass handed to him until he caught Pelligrino in the triangle. I thought Diaz would that fight too, and he did, but he looked shaky. So, he gets Neer. Big deal. Its better than giving him a guy like Sherk or Stevenson who would smother Nate and ride him all the way to a decision.

Nate is good and has a bright future, but the future is not NOW, he has a lot of holes to fill before he's ready to jump in with the Sharks. I personally have him rated as the #11 UFC LW. So the fight with Neer is a good one, and if he passes it, then he should be ready to take the big step forward. Had he beaten Pelligrino convincingly, then he would already be in line to fight for a top 10 spot.
