Potential Viewership Problem For Saturday's EliteXC Event?
I need information from around the US on viewership availability for Saturday's EliteXC event. Last night, I was programming my DVR to record the event but it's missing from my guide. So I keyed in EliteXC as a search and up popped Saturday Night Fights on the NY and LA affiliates for CBS. So I turn the guide back to my local CBS affiliate to record it but again, it was missing. So I checked to see what the local CBS affiliate was running instead and it's running an 8 hour Children's Miracle Network Telethon Fundraiser. So I check the tv guide for the local affiliate and it's also got that down. Directv won't allow you to receive the NY and LA affiliates of CBS or any of the other networks if you are able to receive your local network affiliate. I don't know if it's just my local CBS affiliate or if it's sporadic throughout or what. I'm wondering if my local affiliate is refusing to air it. Anyone know anything similar?
It's on my guide for the NY and LA affiliates, just not my local affiliate and because I have access to my local affiliate, I don't have access to the NY and LA feeds. I'm screwed either way.
I did call my sister who lives in another city not far away who has a different local affiliate and their's is carrying it, some I'm heading over there. So I'm not completely out. It just sucks for those in my area and potentially others who don't have the same options. You try and support the cause only to have some yahoo in a suit not broadcast it. I'm all for the Children't Miracle Network, but do that during the day, don't pre-empt the event that tons of people are waiting for.
