I decided to squeeze these in now after UFC 84 and attempt to do the top 20s again after this little flurry of MMA coming up in the next few weeks. There are quite a few newcomers to the list and I'd love to hear comments on the LHW, MW and WW divisions. HW not so much because its pretty weak right now past the top 3-4 guys, and LW is just too packed, after Penn any two guys on that list is a very evenly matched fight.

Enjoy picking them apart, and as always making a suggestion is more useful than asking an open-ended or rhetorical question

Looks fair to me mostly. Sherk at 4 at LW? I think that's a bit low but even that's not too unreasonable.

All good, except I am not crazy about HW.

Gonzaga just lost 2 in a row.. Not only did he lose, but he was stopped in both fights. He is officially 1-3 against top ten HWs, and now hasn't won in over a year. No way is Gonzaga in the top 6.

Brandon Vera lost his last fight to Sylvia, was inactive for a year before it, and now has been inactive for another 6 months. He hasn't won a fight in what, 2 years....and he is #3? It doesn't make sense.

Gonzaga and Vera need to be in the bottom 4 spots.

Using your top 10, I would have it:
1. Nog
2. Werdum
3. Herring
4. Mir
5. Kongo
6. Carwin
7. Vera
8. Gonzaga
9. Sanchez
10. Cain

If it wasn't for the fact that I know Vera is a better fighter than the 3 below him, he would be in the #10 spot. The only reason I rank him over Gonzaga is for Vera's win over Mir.

The rest of the rankings are near PERFECT though.

I totally understand where you're coming from, but Mir and Kongo up there is even more depressing IMO. And it wasn't that long ago that Vera crushed Mir.

And I hear you. If we are talking overall talent and who is the better fighter, then the rankings would be different. Unfortunately, Vera having lost his last fight and that being his only fight in such a long time.. it would be like ranking Evan Tanner in a high spot...

I was waiting for someone to have enough balls to post some new rankings lol seems they always get ripped apart more then anything. To be honest man THESE ARE THE BEST RANKINGS IVE SEEN IN A DAMN LONG TIME
ranking are impossible to get perfect so it always opens up alot of discussions.

IMO i think Vera is a lil high.
-LHW looks perfect to me,
-MW...hmmm I would prolly keep Hendo and Franklin above Marquardt for now,atleast untill his fight with Leites.
-WW looks damn good, cant complain seeing Fitch #2 and Hughes #3,makes sense to me.
LW-is such a fuckincafuffle it hurts my head. Id prolly go Penn,Sherk,Griffin,kenflo,huerta. But the winner of Huerta/Kenflo jumps up to like 2nd or 3rd.

I would still have Hendo at 2 for the simple fact he would smash any MW except for Anderson and Hendo is the only UFC MW that can beat realistically Anderson IMO.

I'd switch Almeida and Cote.

You must hate Florian. I'd have him at #2 because he's clearly the 2nd most well rounded LW and imprives by leaps and bounds with every fight.

And he actually finishes fights.

But other than at LW, I think the rankings are "Politically Correct" given current rankings based on win/loss or close to it.
