I mean even Pulver doesn't go around complaining about, lol.
Of course he doesn't cry about it. That is an unwritten rule of sports; if someone disrespects you (and that is what holding the choke longer than necessary does, it disrespects an opponent) you must not acknowledge it.
That doesn't change the fact that it is a dickhead thing to do. Have a little class and respect. Christ, how hard is it to act like a normal person. There is no difference between Clementi's crotch chops to Guillard and holding a choke after the tapout.
It's not something that's done out of disrespect. It's done to get your point across. It's done when there is bad blood in a fight. I mean it's not like BJ Penn has him in a joint lock and was close to breaking one of Pulver's bones or something. If that was the case than it would be inexcusable, but that's not the case. BJ Penn had him in a choke hold. The worst that could've happened to him was that he would've been choked unconscious and fighters get choked unconscious all the time. Holding onto to a choke for a little longer against a rival is something that has been going on for ever. It's like I mentioned earlier, it's comparable to a pitcher throwing a fastball directly at a batter, it's just a part of the sport and it really isn't that big of a deal. I mean do you hate every pitcher who has ever played baseball? Do you hate every hockey player out there, because they get into fights, when it's against the rules? No, because it's just a part of the sport.

Still don't like him. Is he one of the best fighters? yes. Do I have to like him? no I hate the guy
/shrug
I like Penn, I've been hard on him but I think going back to 155 was a great decision for him... He conditions superbly at that weight... and no doubt he could compete at WW and no doubt he could challenge GSP as a welter...
It's all up to BJ... I, however, consider him mortal... all things being considered...
I don't see where you would hate Penn, it was dicky of him to hold the choke against Jens but there was an established understanding and bad blood brewing between both fighters. For that moment they wanted to hurt one another and when it was over it was over... I'm a huge Babalu fan but what he did was a bit different...
BJ also looks like he's cleaned up his act outside of the cage as well, in all areas you can improve it looks like he's done some serious growing up and frankly it's commendable...
It's going to be a good thing to have Penn around in the future.... trust me...
Y the hate though? Cause Gomi is in your avatar and Penn made him tap out? haha jk
I used hate pretty strongly there but I dislike him. He is very cocky. Is disrespectful prefight than tries to act respectful after the fight even tho he licks the opposite fighters blood post fight. I wouldn't say he is overrated but he is not a God. His fans bragging about him make me dislike him more. I can barely read a BJ Penn thread. Penn didn't beat GSP. I just don't like the guy to much but he is one helluva fighter.
