All Lyoto does is win win win. Would you rather lose an exciting fight if you were a fighter? Every fighter out there fights to win ultimately.

He could have kept that B.S to him self true or false I mean really. Is this suppose to add to his legendary HOF career.

i dont understand why fighters arnt aloud to explain their performances, u guys act like its taboo or something. nothing wrong with explaining why u gassed, when u normally dont.
serisouly tho it was pretty obvious he looked a lot more tired then usual.
he justs explaining his performance, nothing wrong with that.
u guys take shit WAY outa line imo.
its not like he said it right after the fight infront of everyone, he did it quietly in a post fight interview.. big deal..

I'm used to fighters giving excuses when they lose not if they win. If he was sick and still stuffed every Tito takedown then he's even more the man than I thought.

I love Machida. I think his style is amazing; technically superior and covering all facets of the game. But it's weird to read this because immediately after the fight (i.e. the post fight interview) he stated he was very happy with his performance. Maybe he was just happy to get the win, but after he pondered the fight he felt he didn't "do enough"? He's still the man though in my book. That fight was over if had even 5 more seconds in the first.

Meh...it honestly looked just like every other fight he's had for UFC. Minus almost getting subbed.
Sick or not it was still just as anti climatic as his other fights. Sickness doesnt have much to do with it,his style does.

Well... it was definitely more exciting than the Hoger fight. But he smashed Soko and picked apart Nakamura in an entertaining way.

Machida has fought that way every fight he's had. this sounds like an excuse for a win, lame.
flame me all you want guys, but thats my opinion.

Do you even know the context of this statement? Maybe somebody asked him about him looking tired or something. Its pretty harsh to "not like him even more" because he told the truth.... kind of rediculous
He never anywhere said that he wouldnt "have run away as much" nor remotely anything near that. He said he felt he could have finished the fight had he not been sick.
And maybe hes right, I for one think that someone is likely to perform better if they are not sick... Dont you?

I agree. I don't dislike Machida, but I think there's something to be said about someone being ill and it affecting their strategy to only a small degree.
Although my friend and I noticed that he was breathing pretty heavily in the second round (not that Machida would be lying about being sick).
