does jorge really belong in the ufc..or is he just getting a free pass because he is richs boy??he lost on the show, against a guy he was supposed to beat..and even tho i really dont like him..i was hoping they would televise his fight because i dislike abbadi even more..and i was hoping to see danny get pummeled..but if you cant stop a little homo like danny abbadi..are you really ufc caliber??

Jorge is a solid fighter w/ strong BJJ from what I understand. During the show he was seriously out sized and that does need to be considered. Abiddi has strong stand up and no matter what you think of Tae Kwon Do it can be used effectivly w/ cross training w/ more adaptive stand up technique(i.e boxing). Only time will tell wether he belongs in the UFC. :banghead:

I agree that Gurgel is only where he's at today ,b/c he's Rich's boy.

He seemed like he had a lot of heart on TUF but ever since then he's just seemed really unmotivated.

If he keeps up his current pace he'll never be a champion or anybody ever worth mentioning when talking about good/great fighters.

I agree, if your reknown as strong BJJ fighter and cant even sub someone with the caliber of danny abadi then you dont belong in the UFC. Its one thing to teach BJJ and a totally different thing using it in a MMA fight. Beeing Ace's boy is the only reason in my opinion he fought on UFC 63 but then again why the hell did they put danny ababi on it?

No, and since one of my best friends and training partners actually knows Gurgel and has never had any good experiences with the guy (says he's cocky, talks a lot of shit for not being that spectacular) I'm gonne have to stick with that. Also seeing as how badly he was humiliated by Hominick and how every one of his fights have been mediocre at best he is obviously getting a free ride because of his connections.

The Crow, GSP, Stephan Bonner are all fighters who have made the adjustment and still use a few of the techniques themselves. On the down side for ex. When The Crow and Franklin fought The Crow switched to Tae Kwon Do stances and he was eaten alive but you do still see some spin kicks and what not from these fighters. :banghead:
