Default Why not black champions in UFC?

I am from Europe and I would like to know the point of view of American people about this topic.

Black people dominates almost every sport in USA, including boxing. I think that, with the same opportunities for all, there would be a black champion in every weight division of UFC. But the fact is that all the champions are white fighters.

I can think about these causes:
1.Black people don’t train in MMA because they prefer other sports
2.I am wrong. Black people isn’t good at MMA
3.UFC doesn’t give oportunities to black fighters if the fighter is good enough to be the champion. (looking for more profits, I supposse)

What is your opinion about that?

This is a dumb post. I don't care if you're from europe.

There aren't many black MMA fighters in UFC right now and if there were, they would get an opportunity. If black people want to train in MMA then thats their business. why would black people not be good in MMA?

This is a dumb post and lets just ended here.

Thats up there with the most racist things ive seen on these boards. Why would there be all black champs for the weight divisions. Are they in some way superior to the white, asian and south american fighters? Fact is that there is simply more white fighters in the UFC and they champs in the UFC train with the best camps. There are a number of black MMA fighters coming up that have a good chance to hold gold, Silva, Guilliard, hell even Evans in a couple years may. But in echoing previous responses, this is a FUCKING dumb post.

I mean that black people really is good at MMA.
And I am looking for an explanation for so few black fighters. If not I will tihink that you don't mind about racism.

Anyway I only wanted to know your reaction. When somebady talks about racism you, Americans, say it is dumb and prefer not to think about it... I won't bother more whit this.

(I haven't read Supe when i vrote this)

because MMA just started and the african american society is more drawn to boxing as it is, but this whole "black people dominate every sport" Thing.. while true its still irrelevant race shouldnt matter. I too am glad to see more ethnic diversity in MMA though, I wanna see people from different races become great in the sport, and were seeing it as it is

Rashad Evans is undefeated, Melvin Guillard looks like a contender, Anderson Silva could be champ, Chiek Kongo is on his way up, GSP is about to fight for a title, BJ Penn is still a serious contender, and if you look at Pride.. all there champs except for Hendo are from different parts of the world.

Josh Koscheck looks like a future contender and I think that he is mixed.

In the history of UFC there has been several non white champions Maurice Smith, Kevin Randleman, Carlos Newton, Royce Gracie, Caol Uno, BJ Penn... In my opinion there is just not as much promotion of events to inspire people to train. Most boxers had family that exposed them to boxing, in the eighties Karate, Taekwondo etc where the trend.... eventually you will see MMA reach that the questions will be wether it lasts through the decades.. Like Boxing. Roman Greco, Judo etc..
