From a statistical perspective Blacks are poorer than whites and MMA training (or even martial arts training) is expensive. So they go to sports that pay better, are cheaper/free, and could provide college scholarships.

Meanwhile, there are a ton of white kids in Martial Arts and wrestling.

There are no good black prospects in the HW division. But we all know the last real HW champion was Lenox lewis.

Golf - Tiger Woods

Boxing - Muhammad Ali

The african american society has dominated sports for years, its not a competition among race its just how it is.

I've done a sociological study on sprots and races and a lot of it has to do with economics. African Americans tend to be dominant in sports where it is economically viable for them to play. I don't buy your Golf and Tennis example because first off golf isn't a sport it's a game and Tiger Woods is an anomoly not the norm. And when's the last time the Williams sisters won anything?? But in football and basketball (both sports where you need minimal equipment african americans are awesome. Baseball is close but has more whites if I recall and the last major sport hockey is dominated by whites because of the huge cost associated with it.

Please don't take this as being racist just as the results of many hours of studying statistics and theories for a paper I got an A- on.

As for MMA you can't generalize yet as the sport is still in it's infancy.

0k just because the Williams sisters havent done crap lately doesnt mean anything cuz someone has to come along and have a better career then they have, they dominated womens tennis

Golf bein a game is irrelevant cuz Tiger Woods is still considered a dominate athlete

Ok, the whole black dominate every sport thing is really not as true as it use to be. In the 90s Black dominated everything there was no question. But just look around now.

Boxing - All the HWT Champions are from the Eastern Block and most of the Lightwieght champions are hispanic.

Tennis - The Williams sister have basically disappeared.

Hockey - Only sport that has never really been dominated.

Baseball - No one race really dominates, you can make an arguement for Asain, Black, Hispanic, or White.

Football and Basketball - No question, Blacks dominate.

I really think it is a matter of time though before the UFC has a few black champions. Gullibard, Evans, Kongo, Silva all have a good chance of winning the title in the future. But the idea that one race is dominate to all others in sports is very flawed. Its in individual thing not a race thing.
